Research And Application Of ArcGIS Meteorological Service Based On RIA

In recent years, because the Internet bandwidth and speed increased greatly, gradually the web performance technology is developing from the traditional HTML page way to the RIA(Rich Internet Application) way, which pays more attention to the user experience and has more interactivity. In GIS domain, The Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. Abbreviation ESRI has released a new technology named "ArcGIS API for Flex", which using RIA concept in WEB-GIS application systems.In the field of meteorological service, the use of ArcGIS related technology based on RIA could break through the restrictions which formed by previous types of WebGIS technology, and we could transfer meteorological information.to users by a new GIS way, which will be more humanization and more artistic.In this thesis, I focus on "ArcGIS meteorological service based on RIA" and make an deep research, I implement several meteorological service applications based on FLEX and ArcGIS Server technology. At first, I introduced the concept, technical characteristics and related framework of WebGIS. Then, I discussed several technical ways which released by ArcGIS to build WebGIS systems, I made a comparison among these technical ways, and expounds the advantages brought by RIA technical way. The next, I took the "National Meteorological Stations Display", "GIS Module of Meteorological Emergency Platform ", "National Precipitation Live Monitoring System" as examples, I expounds the system design concept and technologies, and then give system implement results.In this paper the main research contents and contributions reflects in:1) I make comparisons among several ArcGIS Server APIs released to build WebGIS, discuss the maximum number of point could be put on the screen, and get a best technical solution.2) I decompile and rewrite some classes of "ArcGIS API for Flex",then I could put a local static pictures on the GIS map according to the coordinate range given by programmer.3) I realize a configurable xml tree. By this tree, programmer can put the REST map services, local static regions pictures and local static point pictures together, which realizes the "mashup" of local resources and network services.4) I realize the screenshots and ranging functions in simple ways, which only lies on the programs on the client side, not need the server side.5) I realize an unattended regularly update data, monitoring the current state of the national precipitation state system based on WebGIS.
