This study utilized the principles of Possibility Therapy (Beadle & O'Hanlon, 1999; O'Hanlon, 1987; O'Hanlon & Weiner-Davis, 1989; Wilk & O'Hanlon, 1987), to qualitatively explore transition experiences and unique solutions applied to the difficulties and challenges of married Christian stay-at-home moms who have at least a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) who provide full-time care of their children. The research focused on the mom's perspective using an autobiographical multiple-case study. The purpose was three-fold: (a) to gain understanding of (1) the challenges and adjustments and solutions that Marriage and Family Therapists experience during their transition into stay-at-home mothering, and (2) how MFT training influenced these challenges, adjustments, and solutions, (b) to language and organize those themes into solvable problems, (c) and offer possibilities of resolution through examples of triumph and success from the participants' experiences. The goals of the study are consistent with the three main principles of Possibility Therapy.;The findings of this study are represented through a detailed narrative of each participant and a cross-case analysis of themes. Those themes are organized according to the research questions: (a) challenges and adjustments faced by MFT stay-at-home moms, (b) solutions utilized by MFT stay-at-home moms, and (c) suggestions from MFT stay-at-home moms for clinicians working with highly educated stay-at-home mothers. The findings of this study extend current research regarding highly educated stay-at-home moms by identifying solutions highly educated stay-at-home moms applied to common struggles of stay-at-home moms. These findings represent important information for both stay-at-home moms as a personal resource, within the field of Marriage and Family Therapy, and other clinicians working with this population.
