| People are born with the ability to interact with their environment and other people,and their behavior is intertwined with the three systems of family,school and society.Family,as the most important and basic social system of stay-at home children,influences the physical and mental development of stay-at home children all the time,the most direct manifestation of which is the academic achievement of stay-at home children.The long-term outing of one or both parents will cause a lack of family social capital.Will family social capital affect the academic achievements of stay-at home children in rural areas?What factors affect the academic achievements of stay-at home children within and outside the family?Are there differences between the two?To what extent do each of these factors affect academic achievement?Therefore,this research adopts the social capital theory and education equity theory as the theoretical basis,selects stay-at home children in rural primary and secondary schools at the compulsory education stage,and investigates the background of students,family social capital and academic achievement.Literature,questionnaire and interview were used to analyze relevant materials and data,and the relationship between family social capital and academic achievement of rural stay-at home children was studied through the obtained data.This study will be divided into family social capital,social capital in the family and social capital within the family.Social capital in the family is further be divided into family economic conditions,education investment,education view,parent-child relationship,and education expectation.Social capital within the family could be divided into family social capital network,parent-school relationship,neighborhood relationship,students-school relationship,peer relationship.A multiple regression model is used to compare the influence of each factor,and the relationship between family social capital and academic achievement of stay-at home children was explored.Finally,the differences between stay-at home children’s family social capital and academic achievements in different types of stay-at home children are analyzed,and the comparison between stay-at home and non-stay-at home children reveals the relationship between family social capital and academic achievements.This study aims to explore the relationship between family social capital and academic achievement of stay-at home children,to solve the academic achievement problem of stay-at children in rural areas caused by differences in family social capital,improve the level of academic achievement of stay-at children in rural areas,and to provide feasible suggestions for their academic development,so as to improve the quality of rural compulsory education,to ensure education equity.Through a series of data analysis and processing,it is found that the social capital of different families has a significant impact on the academic achievement of stay-at home children in rural areas;the social capital of different families has different influences on the academic achievements of stay-at home children in rural areas;there is no significant difference between capital and academic achievement;the influence of social capital within and outside the family on stay-at home children and non-stay-at home children is different;compared with non-stay-at home children,family social capital more affects the academic achievements of stay-at home children.Based on the above research conclusions,relevant suggestions are put forward:the government should devote itself to supporting the families of poor stay-at home children and relieving their economic pressure;parents should increase education investment and attention to expand the accumulation of social capital in the family;schools should pay more attention to stay-at children and expand the accumulation of social capital within the family;parents play the role of social capital in the family,strengthen parent-child communication,and establish reasonable educational expectations;the government and the society jointly create a good social atmosphere to make up for the shortage of social capital within the family. |
