A Study On The Social Empowerment Of New Poor Stay-at-home Moms In Cities

The status of women’s rights in a country can reflect the overall level of its human rights protection and social security.Women,especially those as mothers,are an important force to promote the progress of family education and the harmonious development of society.However,because stay-at-home mothers give up their jobs and return to their families,it is difficult to obtain time,opportunities and resources to achieve equal,full and free development of individuals.Moreover,due to a lack of relevant rights and interests protection and social welfare,they become a hidden poverty group neglected in the process of development.How to give full play to the role of social work in women’s empowerment,accurately provide women with rights and interests protection services,realize women’s rights through case work methods,and help mothers to empower groups is the starting point of this study.The performance of New Poor of stay-at-home mothers is mainly concentrated in non-material poverty,such as time poverty,spiritual poverty,resource poverty,opportunity poverty,right poverty and so on.The purpose of this study is to combine the plight of group development of stay-at-home mothers at home and abroad,and on the basis of a questionnaire survey of 166 stay-at-home mothers in Shenzhen,Guangdong,to focus on the situation of "non-material poverty" and practical needs of case Z.Using the theory of social empowerment,this paper explores the personal path,group path and social path of the empowerment of stay-at-home mothers in the practice of social work case service.In the research,we tried to establish the implementation framework of stay-at-home mother empowerment,formulate and implement the case service programs for case Z,and evaluate the effect of social empowerment method on changing the new poverty problem of stay-at-home mothers.Through the study of "research +practice",quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis,it is found that the main focus of the application of social empowerment theory in case work is to improve individual resilience,enhance family resilience and increase social support.And the simultaneous action of these three focal points can maximize the effect of case empowerment.The practice of empowerment must consider a variety of internal and external factors,in addition to emphasizing the joint participation of husband and wife,establishing an awareness of gender equality and sharing the responsibility of parenting.What is more important is to promote men to make key changes,correct gender inequality in family relations and change the impact of maternal culture under the patriarchal system on the family.
