| Governments at all levels from the federal to the state, down to the local county and city, have pursued programs to improve economic conditions for their citizens. These programs are under the umbrella of economic development strategies in which policymakers enact programs and procedures to create growth, increase population, expand tax bases, raise per capita income, create jobs, and improve the quality of life for their citizens. One tool referred to as business incubation is being used throughout the US as an economic development tool for local economy. The purpose of this study is to describe the characteristics and assess the performance of incubators located within the state of Missouri. |
