Analyzing The Related Disciplines Of Library Science By The Citations

The purpose of this text lies in making use of list of references of the periodical thesis of library science to analyze related disciplines of library science, and the theory analyses to related relations between disciplines. I have selected ten kinds of library science periodicals such as " Journal of Library Science in China ", etc. Compiling related feature descriptions and the references dates of the library science theses among these periodicals in 1996, 1998, 2000 and 2002.1 make the data lists of the original text and their references each year, as the bases of analyzing related disciplines of library science.I think there are three respects in research meanings of this text: It would contribute to expanding the theory research of the citation analysis, confirming the related disciplines of library science and holding the development characteristics of library science. The innovations of this text is as follows: It would enrich the research approaches of related relations among disciplines, have more systematic theory analyses to the related characteristics among disciplines, uncover some rules of development between library science and its related disciplines.This text is divided into six parts. Chapter one is the foreword, including the study summary in related disciplines of library science, the study summary in analyzing related rations among disciplines by citations, data putting in order, the meanings and innovations of this research. Chapter two is the related disciplines introduction of library science, I utilize of the dates which drawn from the original text data lists and the data list of their references I had made. It is analyzed how the periodical theses content of library science are distributed, the related disciplines of library science are distributed and the related disciplines with every branch fields of library science are distributed in 1996-2002. Chapter three to Chapter five analyzed related relations between three key related disciplines of library science and library science and its branch fields separately. These related disciplines are pedagogy, economics and computer science. Chapter six is the theory analysis of the relatedrelations between library science and its related disciplines. I confirm related disciplines of library science and their related degrees from different angles, and analyzed the related characteristics, the dependence characteristic and the influence factor of related disciplines of library science.
