This study takes the traditional villages in the traditional Luling area(now Ji 'an city,Jiangxi province)as the research object, and studies and analyzes the spatial form of traditional villages.Luling culture is one of the distinctive regional subcultures in Chinese traditional culture. With the multi-dimensional methods of cultural geography, social anthropology, architectural typology and settlement morphology, this paper analyzes the Luling cultural circle with strong regional culture, distinctive regional characteristics, diverse traditional villages and rich historical heritage, and probes into the spatial morphological characteristics of the communities of traditional villages and typical villages in this region. From the macro, meso and micro from far and near, from outside and inside of the multiple perspectives, constructed with "material space form" and "social space structure" two level hierarchical analysis model of common composite, parsing the Luling traditional village space form features, reveals the morphological characteristics and correlation between derived in the form of its culture, and puts forward integrity, targeted to the development of the traditional village protection strategy. At the macro level, through the quantitative method of cultural geography GIS,the paper analyzes the spatial and temporal relationships of "cohesive" traditional village groups and the social distribution characteristics of "concentrated" groups in 100 traditional villages in Luling.Based on a comprehensive study of the geographical and social spatial distribution of the traditional villages in Luling, the spatial evolution rules of the synchronic overall "agglomeration" and diachronic overall "diffusion" are found. At the medium and micro levels,80 typical traditional villages of native books were selected to further analyze the spatial form of villages.Firstly, through the analytic hierarchy process of settlement morphology, this paper makes a professional interpretation of the physical spatial form of typical traditional villages in Luling from six aspects, including location selection by feng shui, boundary of the field, texture morphology, street form, architectural characteristics and environmental nodes.Typical traditional villages in Luling are diversified in forms.Due to the natural environment of hilly plain, most of them are located in the following characteristics: first, most villages are located in pingchuan belt with jade shape;Second, villages form into clusters. The third is the horizontal and vertical connection of village texture;Fourth, the village streets and lanes are mainly grid type and mixed type;Fifth, village dwellings are high lighting dwellings and courtyard dwellings.Sixth, villages attach importance to the construction of public buildings, especially ancestral halls, and so on.The physical space form of a village is composed of hierarchical subgroups and linked subgroups. Then, with the method of social anthropology, the social spatial structure of typical traditional villages in Luling is deeply analyzed from three aspects: spatial function, hierarchical structure and spatial evolution.Due to the profound Confucian tradition, prosperous village clans and the order of clans in this region have a decisive influence on the spatial structure of its traditional villages.According to the clan structure,Luling traditional villages can be divided into two types: single-surname single-center and multi-surname multi-center.The social spatial structure of a village corresponds to the relationship betweenclan houses and factions. The village space presents three characteristics: clan settlement, house faction differentiation and common house order. This research object characteristic analysis, through the comparison research can be more profound understanding. The traditional villages in the ancient Linchuan area of eastern Jiangxi and the hakka traditional villages in southern Jiangxi adjacent to Luling are compared, which further highlights the typicality of the spatial form of the traditional villages in Luling.Obviously, the "integrity","centrality" and "originality" of the traditional villages in Luling derive from the comprehensive effect of the historical, natural, economic and social background of the ecological culture circle in Luling.Another important goal of the study is to protect the traditional villages of Luling better. In this paper, from the perspective of the whole region, facing the remains of Luling traditional villages with high density and full coverage, the author puts forward the ideas and paths for the protection of Luling traditional villages. From the perspective of material space inheritance, the traditional villages of Luling should follow the protection concept of "overall protection and development" and "typical key development",as well as the protection and development strategy of "macroscopic--mesoscopic--microscopic".At the same time, from the perspective of the continuation of social relations,we should readjust and define the responsibility of the village society "clan",so that the clan, the government departments, the village committee, and all social groups can jointly build a four-in-one social force, and ensure the integration of the original order and the new order of the social space structure of the traditional village in Luling.
