| It’s the case that new media technology has produced communication revolution.Under new media environment, what’s the current state of news magazines inMainland China? Are they losers or good swimmers in the wave of new media?What’s the advantage of news magazine while facing the new media? As the paperprovided, all the questions concerned can be answered after the current state of newsmagazines in mainland China are deeply explored.The paper is organized specifically as follows. First of all, the core features ofnew media, as well as the influence of new media on news magazine, are theoreticallyredefined. Chapter three concluded several features of news magazine in mainlandChina after carefully exploring several popular news magazines as a whole. Chapterfour described the status quo as well as the underlying drivers for news production ofnews magazines in mainland China. As the empirical data shows, because of the greatdifference among these news magazines and the various limitations from politics toeconomy, the current situation of news production of news magazines in our countryis depressing.Basing on Chapter four, after deeply analyzing on the limitation of social system,media organization itself, as well as the conflict between the professionalism in thetraditional news operation and the socialization of news production in new mediaage.Chapter five made some conclusions on the tendency of news magazine in thefuture, attempting to find the answer to what is the core competition of it.Besides the literature searches, the most valuable research method used in thispaper is empirical research in which research questions are designed intentionally.There are three factors to be considered in my convenience sampling: the differenceof orientation, the regional difference and system difference. The total of100questionnaires are issued, and the valid response rate is72%.To be brief, by means of the deep investigation and empirical data, the paperoutlined the status of news magazines of our country, which contributes to thepromotion of practice of news making of traditional media facing new media’s challenge, in addition to the study of news operation of news magazine. |
