How do we evaluate the effects of spreading and educating? In fact, the two questions refer to one point, which is also the core and a goal of this dissertation. That is how to narrate better our history and spread our culture. It can be divided into three detailed aspects:the way to narrate and spread; the real effects of spreading; how to improve and promote the spreading effects for the educational purpose.It is an opportunity, but more of a test. With the rise of social and economic standards, we have seen the emergence of fickleness, vanity, complacency and pleasure-seeking. How can we do a good job in the ideal and faith education for the youth, the whole society and the nation? Xi Jinping pointed that:"For us Communists, China’s revolutionary history is the best nutritional agent.""History is the best textbook.""History is a compulsory course, in which we should have a high score. We need to ceaselessly strengthen the study of Party’s and nation’s history and do well in the practical job and walk to the better future in the reflection of history." He added that we should actively respond to the appeal of "carrying forward glorious traditions and being qualified descendants of the Red". Therefore, it has become another extremely important tasK to inherit and promote excellent Chinese spirits and culture traditions, especially Red Culture traditions, from Chinese history, particularly revolutionary history and experience. The task also helps us to tightly combine our work, major and knowledge together."Red culture" ranges from the outbreak of First Opium War in1840till now. It is the great revolutionary progress of the Chinese nation and the Chinese people fighting for national independence and realizing national rejuvenation, which is a sequential, open and systematic process. Therefore, the title of the dissertation is The Research of the Condition, Issues and Solutions of Current Red Culture Spreading-Based on the Investigation and Thought in Jinan, Qingdao and Zaozhuang.China is now undergoing a period of strategic opportunities and a period of social prominent contradictions as well. In the social development, there will be both opportunities and challenges. In ideological and moral education for the mass, to emphasize the inheritance of the red culture and to develop and cultivate the red spirit in order to promote the comprehensive and healthy development of the mass’s moral quality needs to be theoretically discussed and to take practical actions. However, the first priority is to lay theoretical discussions on a solid foundation of evidences. In this sense, research in this topic has a significant meaning in theory and practice alike.Red culture is a critical source of socialism with Chinese characteristics core values. It is a type of culture formed under the guidance and influence of the national spirits with patriotism as the core and the spirits of the time with reform and innovation as the core and in the historic process of pursuing national independence and rejuvenation by Chinese people. Its spiritual connotation highly agrees with socialism with Chinese characteristics core values. In addition, its contents and forms are true, credible and widely-spread Chinese stories filled with rich native style, taste and reflection, which are voices and stories of China gladly heard, seen and read by ordinary people and can be spread and narrated. It is also an important concept produced in the localization of Marxism in China, an indispensable component of China’s national spirits and historic relics of revolutions and a glamorous memory running through the arduous and grand historic process of searching for China’s national independence and prosperity. This paper intends to answer the following theoretical questions:What are the problems in the process of spreading the red culture? What are the elements influencing or reducing the educational effects? And how can we break these limitations?We have gained a clear understanding of the investigated group’s recognition condition of the Revolutionary Spirit by this research and analysis of the conclusion. From the result, we can see the investigated group has a relatively universal and correct recognition of the gist and performance of Revolutionary Spirits, historic events and figures as well as the function of history. On the other hand, there is also an obvious diversity among people with different locations, education levels, ages and experiences, social and political statuses. Those factors exert influential effects on the investigated groups. However, some people’s reaction to some historical factors they should know is not optimistic.Some problems can be found in the inheritance and propaganda of Red Culture. Firstly, Red Culture is viewed as static and one-sided. Therefore we fail to explore and grasp its increasingly profound content and emerging forms in the new "Great Revolution" including reforms and opening-up and the construction of a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way. Secondly, some regions, administrations and enterprises utilize Red Culture merely as a tool for profits and vanity projects marking their work performance, misguided and motivated by money-and-entertainment-worshipping opinions. They distort historic facts and demonize figures in Red Classics. The speculation away from reality results in the vulgarization of Red Culture. Thirdly, Red Culture is hollowed and vulgarized for the lack of specific content, spiritual nature and value. Fourthly, its educational function in ideological and politics is generalized and simplified. In this way, Red Culture is misinterpreted as a panacea. Fifthly, the propaganda merely focuses on sermonic political and theoretical lecturing without understanding the rules of mass media, especially the mentality of post-90s generation. The authority over-emphasizes ideological propaganda with rigid logic and story-telling style, making it less lively and contagious, even setting off rebellious mentality. Sixthly, the expression prioritizes narrow ethnic affairs, instead of adapting spreading techniques with universally-accepted mentality, habits and information demands. Therefore, this type of culture cannot participates in the communication and competition of global culture based on international standards, values, international practice and rules. Seventhly, red tourism mainly depends on the support of macro-policies and government at all levels without the operation of market mechanism. The shortsighted vision and blind construction cause the similarity in facilities. Eighthly, we fail to view and manage Red Culture in the great historic environment of Chinese revolution and construction and the5000years of Chinese civilization. Our measures are inadequate in balancing the inheritance and creative transformation of traditional cultural elements and learning from foreign culture. Ninthly, the features in the apparent form of Red Culture are not distinctive enough. Satisfactory results are hard to attain due to the excessive similarity and stereotyped tendency.Based on researches, I analyzed the current transmission situation of Red Culture in a comprehensive and systematic way through making full use of the knowledge and research methods of many disciplines including communications, history and ideological and political education etc. and proposed some appropriate suggestions and approaches grounded on educational practices.
