Female urethral syndrome has always been a sensitive and embarrassing topic, with the main performance of the symptoms in the urine including frequency, urgency and pain; moreover, female urethral syndrome also severely influences social interaction, sexual life and quality of life on women, even causes sense of shame, depression and so on, which will lead to the change of body image or social isolation for women who suffering from female urethral syndrome.Female urethral syndrome is like a no time bomb burying in woman’s body and heart, so as many women actually afraid of being outside in virtue of could not timely find the toilet when have sense of frequent and urgent urination, therefore dare not go out easily or choose where has more toilets when being outside, which causes a large impact on the life of some people.Recently, the domestic literatures have demonstrated that the therapy of western medicine in the treatment of female urethral syndrome mainly includes medication, surgery, interventional therapy, etc., while with diversification in therapy, traditional Chinese medicine treats the disease by Chinese medication, acupuncture with acusector, moxibustion, embedding catgut, auricular therapy and so on. Purpose of studyAs a randomized controlled study with small sample in clinic, this subject was designed to observe the change of symptoms and signs before and after treatment of patients with female urethral syndrome in warming acupuncture group and routine acupuncture group, hope to achieve great clinical efficacy through this study.Research methods56 cases of patients who met requirements were randomly divided into observation group (n=29) and control group (n=27). The observation group was treated by warming acupuncture and applied acupuncture treatment in control group, with the acupoint mainly selected on belly,2 times a week, while 10 times as a course. The therapy lasted 2 courses, and then utilized rating scale to observe and assess curative effect and symptom improvement before and after treatment.Research results1. Before treatment, the difference in the age and course of patients between observation and control group has no statistical significance (P>0.05), which can be compared. The difference in scores of each symptom between observation and control group has no statistical significance (P>0.05), with comparability.2. After 2 courses of treatment, FUSS and QOL were applied to observe the urethral syndrome and quality of life of patients that improved well, with effective rate was 82.76% in observation group and 77.78% of control group, which indicated that both of two therapies have effect on urethral syndrome. The depression of patients was improved after treatment, with SDS for assessment.3. The difference in comparison of symptoms including frequent urination, urgent urination, odynuria, etc. after treatment of observation and control group has statistical significance (P<0.05), indicating that two therapies have certain curative effect on improvement of above symptoms.Conelusion:Warming acupuncture and acupuncture treatment can effectively improve urethral syndrome and quality of life in female patients. By the observation for two therapies, the study concluded that the treatment effect of warming acupuncture was better than that of routine acupuncture therapy, which has provided new thinking direction for clinical research.
