Wang Kangnian is an important journalist in modern Chinese journalism history. With centered on politicization, he went through idea transition from to news character to political comment characters in newspaper activity. With political comment newspapers as the main stream in modern period, he tried to form another way of exploration by running newspaper for interference in politics. Because researches on Wang Kang-nian has been insufficient in domain of journalism history, his thought about the press and practice character weren't obviously manifested either. The thesis tried to summarize characteristics of Wang Kang-nian's newspapers idea and practice in different phases, grasp the essence of development clue which run through it and explore internal factor which lead to change.Firstly, the article described the whole newspapers practice process of Wang Kang-nian, classify them to three types:translated newspapers, news dailies and political comment newspapers, present the order changes of this process to focusing on political comment newspaper in his thinking about running newspaper. On the basis of deep analysis about The Chinese Progress, The Verax,The Chinese Progress Daily, the Universal Gazette, the Peking press and Chu Yan Bao, the thesis observed how Wang Kang-nian as newspaper founder to understand and construct these three different newspapers, and what functions he made newspapers play, and deduce from it Wang Kang-nian's views about translated newspaper, news, political comment.The thesis hold that Wang Kang-nian regarded translation newspaper as a kind of indirect evaluation method, express his opinions about Chinese political affairs by means of choosing especially reporting and reviewing about Chinese current affairs from oversea media, news coverage is effective approach to form public opinion, by means of rapidly, really, objectively, comprehensively reporting about news events, especially political issues, and enhance society attention to political affairs, form social opinion to promote resolving political issue; political comment is direct express about political view, attempted to influence government and society action by publishing personal idea and suggestion about political issues. Based on these analysis, the thesis hold that Wang Kang-nian's newspapers practice not completely follow the road of political comment but still centered on politicization, demonstrate another way of exploration of running newspaper for interference in politic.At last, the article analyzed internal drive of Wang Kang-nian newspapers idea and practical development, and hold that change of political thought is direct reason to drive thinking development of running newspaper for interference in politic; intellect group thought character of changing world promote his newspaper activity revolve around politicization, influence from real and steady regional culture characteristic in Jiang Su and Zhe Jiang district make him gentle and not radical towards these problems how newspapers benefit politics, present running newspaper for interference in politic indirectly and gradually, individual traits of righteousness and justice he hold made him consistently stick to social criticism. In general, Wang Kang nian with target of running newspaper for interference in politic, always sought realistic way of running newspapers and periodicals, he may not successfully in the end, but we should focus our attention on the process.
