This paper introduces application and performance of automated High-rise Warehouse (denominated AS/RS abroad) basing on application and development requirement of modern logistics techniques. And puts emphasis on the researching of control and management techniques in automated High-rise Warehouse combining modern science and techniques, especially computer techniques, communication techniques and information techniques. The whole paper includes three sections.The first section is foundation-introduces several fundamental concepts on modern logistics and expound performance of automated High-rise Warehouse in modern logistics system and their relationships. A range of fundamental requirements is promoted on automated High-rise Warehouse projection basing on modern logistics. This section analyzes design and calculation methods of chief equipments in automated High-rise Warehouse and reliability evaluation and optimal design in warehouse. It include: (1)Constitution of warehouse management and control system (including software). (2) Warehouse hardware equipments, including warehouse-out and warehouse-in conveyance chains and alley crane etc. (3) Logistics analysis and generic steps on warehouse system design.The second section is research on modern logistics system-Pay more attention to the control principles of the automated warehouse logistics transmission system , warehouse management software and its algorithm, performance evaluation on warehouse management and control, and design of communication protocal etc. Combing modern computer and relative technique development, this section surrounds the theme on how to advance automated warehouse's management and control level and brings forward a new control algorithm and program design principle, which provides a theoretic reference to guide practice. The main contents are; (1) submitting a new ide-a using control unit structural charts, exploiting the idea to design programsin automated warehouse logistics transmission system and introducing a method designing supervisory control program depending on control unit structural charts in detail. (2) Submitting an arrangement layering design i-dea in warehouse's communication sub-systems and its concrete realization means. (3) Submitting a state chart of freight site and data-based table structure ,based on these, the management software of automated warehouse system and correlative algorithms are submitted. (4) Submitting visual pick-up precepts and their analysis models in order to enhance warehouse-operating efficiency.The third section is application on modern logistics system-This section integrates practical issues and projects that I have finished and submits supervisory control and simulation display precepts of automated warehouse system. In this section some new techniques are discussed, for example, control methods and artificial intelligence technique, and so on. The author still analyzes and summarizes the control methods of kinds of automated warehouses. The main contents are-. (1) In the light of three-rank control idea, the author expounds a control rank's control precept that involves control programs and hardware configurations so on. (2) Submitting a supervisory control computer simulation display technique of warehouse system and concrete flow charts. (3) Submitting a concrete real-time control precept of automated warehouse. (4) Directing to diverse warehouse-out and warehouse-in systems, The author submits state diagrams, namely state chains' design principle and correlation theories' control programs. (5) In order to reduce stacker's traveling time from armed location to destination, The author refers to correlation theories and solve stacker's waiting order sites based on simulation analyzing. (6) Analyzing and introducing a kind of precept that stacker confirms its site and adjustment velocity automatically. (7) According to optimization principle that R. Bellman promoted, and in order to realize the stacker's shortest traveling distance, a kind of optimum control model is submitted...
