Telemedicine provides a brand new diagnosis and treat mode for medical institutes, doctors and patients in different area by using the technology of computer network, communication, multimedia and modern medical, which can implement tele-consultation, treatment, teaching, research and information communication. With the development of Internet, more and more work occur in heterogeneous environment, in which participants, information and other factors are distributed, heterogeneous, autonomous, polymorphous. By systematically summarizing and analyzing the collaborative theory and technology of telemedicine, this dissertation mainly discusses the theory and technology of system architecture, user interface, information sharing and system implementation about telemedicine in heterogeneous environment.1. Based on the analysis of problems about collaborative work and the description of the composing principle, collaborative services about telemedicine system, a reference model is presented.2. This dissertation presents an Open, Active TeleMedicine System(OATMS) architecture by analyzing the group collaborative behavior, and discusses implementation structure of agent in telemedicine system. The model can adapt to heterogeneous environment and heterogeneity of user interface and data resources. In addition, some key problems about design and implementation of cooperative agents in OATMS (such as constitutes and communication mechanism etc.) is analyzed and discussed, and a XML-based semantic communication frame of cooperative agent is presented by combining XML and traditional communication language of agent.3. By analyzing and studying about the group collaboration and system behavior of telemedicine system, the concept of static and dynamic factors is presented. With the abstraction of static and dynamic characteristics of the system, a four-ary (P,R,T,O) structure model is provided. Then a XML-based Collaborative System Description Language(CSDL), which not only depicts different essential factors of telemedicine system, but also describes interaction protocol among them, is developed to effectively guide the analysis and build of system.4. By analyzing the characteristics, targets and functions of the information sharing in telemedicine environment, a multi-agent information sharing model and implementation framework are presented, which can meet telemedicine system requirements. Then the concept of"data wrapper" is especially provided to build a kind of heterogeneous data resources integration model. The model has the characteristics of ODBC and is similar to JVM model, which can accommodate to the heterogeneous, disperse, autonomous data sources. In this model, a resource agent is specified to define abstract interface of data access, a user interface agent and a information agent is defined to access data resources. The model can provide a good method for information and service in medical environment. Multi-data resources integration model can sufficiently meet the needs of the distributed, heterogeneous and autonomous data sources.5. Based on analyzing cooperative multi-user interface characteristic, supported architecture and mainly technology issues, the model of an oriented user, independency application, easy to tailor multi-user interface is presented by exampling of action results and multi-layer abstract of user action, which is based on the analysis of the cooperative multi-user interface, characteristics, supported architecture and major technical issues. This architecture is a hybrid model: sharing information is centrally stored in the main components to maintain data consistency, display information and semantic parts of human-computer is replicated in distributed user display agent. Agent is its key component since it encapsulated shared policy of user interface management and implemented information sharing of collaborative awareness. The model supports three level information sharing of display, view, object, so it has open, autonomous, distributed charact...
