Study On Integrated Management Of Engineering Project Based On Process Integration

Compared with other industries, AEC industry is dropped behind on methodology, technology or performance. In order to solve the problems caused by the ineffectiveness of traditional AEC project, so far, a lot of advanced managing technologies and ideas have been introduced from other industries, among which CIMS plays the most important role.Based on integrated management theory, CIMS, other advanced management technology and information technology, this dissertation designed and constructed the framework of the integrated management system of engineering project (EPIMS), in which the meaning of EPIMS was demonstrated in three different perspectives, and the integration of whole life-cycle, the integration of each project element during function and the integration for obtaining the product function were achieved.The development of EPIMS fully reflects continuous applications and improvements of CIMS and CE (Concurrent Engineering) in AEC industry. As far as we know the design of engineering project system is the crucial issue for the performance of engineering project, so the key points for engineering project are the expression, analysis, transformation and recombination of its own process. The platform of information technology was built only after achieving optimization and integration of the process, and the information integration during the function of engineering project, both of which were emphasized on the realization of its physical system optimization and design.Then based on the combination of some relative foreign theories and the engineering practices in our country, the system of project performance evaluation indicators, including the quality of engineering project, the degree of customers'satisfaction, social benefits and the consideration of environment protection, was explored and constructed.Finally, we applied some EPIMS ideas to some cases according to their actual performance situation and level. The indicators of each engineering management element have been improved to a great extent after EPIMS management operation was implemented for a while. Furthermore, it was confirmed the effectiveness of engineering project can be improved by the implementation of relative EPIMS management operations through the survey from experts in or out of the field.
