Study On Interactive Customization System Based On Web For Kitchen Cabinet Products

With the development of Internet economy and the change of consumer groups, it’s necessary for the industry to explore a customization model of kitchen cabinets, which is in line with the contemporary economic and social development. In order to improve the interactivity and the convenience of kitchen cabinets’ net customization, we made a consumption study, a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, interactive and virtual platform for product display and the prediction of environmental quality for customized schemes as the foundations of this study, then an interactive customization system based on web for kitchen cabinet products was developed by using Unity3D, Spring Web MVC and MySQL etc. It is a new exploration for the net customization and also provides a reference for net’ customization for other furniture products through changing the traditional and dull cabinet customization into an experimental, interactive, more independent and more convenient one.(1) Conjoint analysis was introduced to make a consumer study for kitchen cabinets.In this study,8 attributes including price, style, hardware, access & comfort, storage space rate, door material, countertop material and environmental quality were determined and the levels of each factor were also chosen. Then 27 potential products were generated using an orthogonal array design from statistical software SPSS 17.0 and they were assessed by 9-point scale for making a survey study about consumers. Finally, the data from questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS17.0 and the results from this study indicated that environmental quality and price were the top two attributes, accounting for 22% and 16.77% respectively, followed by countertop material, door material, hardware, access& comfort, storage space and style, accounting for 11.26%,10.90%,9.87%,9.82%,9.59% and 9.12% respectively. This study demonstrates that environmental quality is the most important attribute to influence consumers’ purchase and would become a core competitiveness for kitchen cabinets in the future. However, the findings also showed that consumers wouldn’t keep a watchful eye on the style when purchasing kitchen cabinets.(2) Trapezoidal Fuzzy AHP was adopted to study on the index weights of kitchen cabinet products. The index system was established and included six criteria(aesthetics, functionality, economy, material, technics/structure and environmental quality) and 26 sub-criteria. Then the trapezoidal fuzzy numbers’scale was applied to make the pair-wise comparison of the indices in the same level and to construct the matrices in different levels, thus the weight coefficients for the indices in different levels were obtained.(3) Fuzzy comprehensive evaluation was used to study on the assessment of kitchen cabinet products. Firstly the comment level set and its standard membership were determined; then a certain criterion fuzzy evaluation matrix was defined according to the results from the Delphi Technique questionnaire; finally fuzzy comprehensive evaluation for kitchen cabinet products was established on the basis of the index weights obtained by trapezodial fuzzy AHP.(4) Unity3D technology was applied to study on the interactive and virtual display of kitchen cabinet products and included 3 functions:interactive changes of colors and materials, interactive moving of components and interactive cruising display. In this section, the method for implementing functionality and the script functions which were used were also analyzed in detail.(5) The prediction of environmental quality for kitchen cabinet customization was studied. The emission database of formaldehyde and TVOC for kitchen cabinets’commom materials was established through data collection and test in laboratory; then environmental quality of customized schemes can be predicted by using the formulas and the volume of kitchen; finally the comparison between the predicted values and the measured values from 12 kitchen cabinet samples was made and accordingly the modified equation was defined to correct the predicted results.(6) Key technologies including Unity3D, Spring Web MVC and MySQL etc. were employed to study on the interactive customization system based on web for kitchen cabinet products. The system was composed of 7 modules:user login, product evaluation, virtual reality interaction and ordering product (interactive customization and ordering management), environmental quality prediction, user communication and back-stage management. Compared with traditional net customization of kitchen cabinet products,6 functions consisting of comparative evaluation, virtual reality and interactive display, interactive customization, ordering management, environmental quality prediction of customized schemes and back-stage management were added. Also, ordering management have the function to create the bill of materials, which can connect the front customization to the back-end production.
