It's potential for good or evil that these changes bring both advancement and difficulty to us, just like double-edged sword. The style and feature of Contemporary Chinese Cities is one of the difficult problems that we have to face with. A great deal of cities lost their style and features during the irrational building upsurge, and from another point of view, many new districts of cities became more and more homology during the normal course of urban development without effective direction and control. With the exposure of city problem and contradiction, people realized that the problem of city style and feature is not only referred to the city's visualization and characteristic, but also play an vital role on the development and inheriting city history and culture, on the internal driving force of the blossom of our nation.The core of the thesis is style and feature of contemporary Chinese cities. City style and feature in different history and countries are of great difference. Under the situation of a special period of china, the author try to use the theory of system to analyze city style and feature of China on behavior of the correct opinion about it. And then we can find some efficient way to make our cities more beautiful and recognizable. There are three parts in the thesis. The first part is basal research on city style and feature, concluding the situation of contemporary research on it, the elements of it, the core of it. and how to evaluate it. The second part is research on how to evaluate city style and feature , how to mold it and how to control the change of it. In the third part, by analyzing the ancient city of Suzhou and East street of Nanxun, the author find some polices for the question. To use the theory of system systematically research on city style and feature is also one of the feature of the thesis.
