Case Report Of Restoring Single Edentulous Jaw With Conventional Complete Denture

Background:With the improvement of people’s health level of our country and healthconditions,the number of edentulous patients seeking treatment must be more and more,With the elderly life extension, wearing complete denture time will prolong.Maxillaryand mandibular edentulous (edentulous jaw) is the final result of the Nature teethmissing, in the course of its evolution it will appear single maxillary edentulous,whilethe difficulty of repairing single complete was greater than that of complete denture, sothe clinical doctor faces great challenges.Objection:Investigation of clinical repair effect and patient satisfaction with singlecomplete denture.Methods:7patients were collected from2013to2014in my hospital. Including6casesOf male,1female, the oldest patient aged89,the youngest is61, maxillary edentulousjaw in5cases,2case of edentulous mandible. After the clinical examination, taking oralpreparation work and communicating with the patients treatment plan,we finally carrieson the single complete denture and the mandibular removable partial denture repairmentwith patients.During the follow-up of6-8months, observe the clinical effect of repair.Results:During6-8months wearing prosthesis, there were5patients with retention isgood, no pain, masticatory function can be recovered in2-3weeks,2patient hadtenderness on tissue surface, after the modification came back to normal.Conclusion:Single complete denture repairing process should be paid attention to thefollowing points in order to improve the quality of denture repair such as repaircharacteristics, oral preparation,taking impressions,arrangement of artificialteeth, denture border seal area and polishing surface treatment, etc.
