Soft liners is a species of material with viscoelastic properies and was used base tissue interface. Soft liners have been used to provide a cushion between the denture base and the supporting tissues, and allow for a more uniform distribution of stress at the mucosa and lining interface. It can resolve the chronic residual ridge soreness and increase satisfaction with edentulous patients when treating patients with residual ridge atrophy or resorption , relatively thin and nonresilient mucosa and bone undercuts. Soft liners have been used for decades and few valid reports on their track clinical efficacy have been published. This dissertation were to determine on patient satisfaction, masticatory function, maximum bite forces and clinical liner serviceability in a year. All these research were much helpful to clinical application of soft liners, and search suitable nursing methods .The results revealed:1. The patient satisfaction with soft denture liners in a week, three months, six months and a year were significantly higher in stability, mastication and comfort than those convention complete denture before used soft liners. Soft liners denture can increase patient satisfaction with residual ridge atrophy or resorption , relatively thin and nonresilient mucosa and bone undercuts. The patient satisfaction with soft liners denture were decrease after six months and a year, but higher than the convention complete denture before used soft liners, and normal function were used normal function.2. The masticatory function and maximum bite forces of patient with soft liners denture after a week, three months, six months and a year were significantly higher than convention complete denture before used soft liners. With edentulous patient of residual ridge atrophy or resorption , relatively thin and nonresilient mucosa and bone undercuts, Sofrelienr MS soft liners denture were significantly higher in masticatory function and maximum bite forces.3. Sofreliner MS dentures were normal used after a year, their clinical longer should more a year, and Sofreliner MS consistent with ISO standard of long-term or permanent soft liners.4. Resilient denture–lining materials are more susceptible to microbial adhesion. In this study, yeast growth in 20 soft liners dentures was 55%. As denture hygiene is essential to maintain the serviceability of the denture. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of three different disinfectant solutions to soft liners materials contaminated with Candida albicans, and instructed clinical patient on choice of denture cleaners. As a result, three denture cleansers can decrease microorganism counts. The sequence of efficacy from high to low is 5.25% sodium hypochlorite, Protefix denture cleanser solution, denture cleanser pill solution. Soaking in 5.25% sodium hypochlorite reduced the number of adherent Candida albicans significantly high than others cleanser. The clinical suggest is patient should cleaned with a soft hair toothbrush or cloth, cotton ball and soaked in a regular denture cleaner of alky hypochlorite.Patients used for this study received Sofreliner MS dentures. The results manifested that soft liners dentures may improve patient satisfaction and masticatory function and maximum bite forces of patient with soft liners denture. Sofreliner MS dentures were normal used after a year. But there are white or yellow spot or scale on the soft denture, and some soft dentures had positive cultures for fungus. As denture hygiene is essential to maintain the serviceability of the denture, and the clinical suggested that patient choice proper denture cleanser.
