In the21st Century, The international competition in economy, science and comprehensivenational power is actually the competition of intelligence and talents. With the development ofknowledge economy, this competition is becoming increasingly fierce. In order to adapt to therequirement of education development and education reform, it is our inevitable choice to carryout quality-oriented education.The people’s livelihood awareness, referring to a kind of important humanistic spirit, shouldbe strengthened in high school. In our history teaching, we should train the students’ awarenessof paying closer attention to people’s livelihood, social justice, and harmonious development anddevelop their positive values and sense of responsibility towards one’s family, society, country,knowing the fundamental interests of the people is the core.This paper focusing on the people’s livelihood issues in senior high school history teachingis divided into five parts:The first part is introduction that explains at first why selecting the title and the significanceof studying the topic; the second part clarifies its necessity and importance of the study. Trainingstudents’ awareness of the people’s livelihood is a practical need for high school teachingenvironment and students’ development level provides the possibility; The third part illustratessome principles that we should follow and specific strategies of solving the problem; The fourthpart introduces several points needing to be noticed when cultivating students’ awareness of thepeople’s livelihood; The fifth part summaries some experiences of the subject research and hopesto provide reference for other researchers.In a word, training high school students’ awareness of the people’s livelihood is a veryimportant but doomed to be time-consuming work; the author will make greater efforts tocontinue this research in the future.
