Research On Conservation And Restoration Technique For Modern Historic Buildings In Qingdao

The modern historic building in Qingdao has been considered as the unique history and culture evidence of Qingdao. However, the majority of them are on the stage of to be restored. Along with the consciousness of historic building protection enhancing, there is a higher requirement about restoration technique. The thesis discusses the conservation and restoration principle, integrated with the technique that has been used during the practice of modern historic building restoration in Qingdao, expecting to be helpful to solve the problems occurred from not only the theory but also the technique.The article gathers literature collection and presents the research of restoration cases, which is on operating or has been finished since then. Although the principle and the theory of historic building restoration are the basic and guidance of technique, it can only support with concept, direction and principles when we were facing the similar problems. It requires detailed and accurate work when the problems were related to a city, a place or a kind of building. Meanwhile, the efficacy application of restoration principle can not work well without the enhancing of technique standard and it is necessary to absorb and employ new techniques and new materials although to sustain traditional technique is important as well. Hence, the paper recorded the technical material and constructing methods that were used in the cases of Ouren Prison and Badaguan Villa in Qingdao, and analyzes the practice of restoration principles.Basically, the restoration theory, principle and methodology are the fundament of technique. The article indicates the suggestion about restoration research and practice, willing to be used as a reference of historic building protection practice henceforth, and promote the development of modern historic building restoration.
