Recent years, with the strengthening awareness of historic building protection,China has carried out a large number of historic building conservation and restorationwork, reasonable application of traditional crafts is an important guarantee for thevalue and authenticity of historic buildings. But in the restoration project, the loss oftraditional crafts, lack of raw materials, hard to find traditional craftsmen broughtgreat difficulties to the application of the traditional crafts. How to restore and pass ontraditional crafts, and use them appropriately in the restoration is an urgent problem tosolve.France’s historic building restoration work started earlier, they have exhaustivetheories for protection and restoration of historic buildings, they concerned a lot abouthow to use the traditional crafts appropriately in the restoration and have a strongsystem to pass on the traditional craft.
