Research On The Impact Of Cross-border E-commerce On The High-quality Development Of Foreign Trade

Since joining the WTO,China has made great progress in the field of foreign trade,comprehensively improved its level of open economy,and has initially become a world economic and trade power.At the same time,the external environment facing China’s foreign trade development is also not optimistic,on the one hand,trade protectionism and unilateralism have shown a rising trend in recent years,on the other hand,affected by the new crown pneumonia epidemic,the current world economy has greater downward pressure,and the demand in the global market is also relatively sluggish,which seriously affects the growth expectations of international trade.In the face of profound changes in the domestic and international situation,the Chinese government has made major decisions and deployments to promote the high-quality development of trade in a timely manner: in November 2019,it issued the Guiding Opinions on Promoting the High-quality Development of Trade,which clearly stated that by 2022,trade efficiency should be significantly improved and trade strength should be further enhanced;In 2021,the "14th Five-Year Plan" for the high-quality development of foreign trade was promulgated,and promoting the sustainable and healthy development of cross-border e-commerce was listed as a key task in the "14th Five-Year Plan" period,and promoting the high-quality development of trade is an inevitable choice in the new historical orientation,and is the goal and direction of foreign trade development in the new era.At the same time,China’s cross-border e-commerce has developed rapidly with its unique advantages of low cost,high efficiency and breakthrough time limit,and has become a new momentum for foreign trade transformation and upgrading and a "new track" for innovative development.Therefore,in the face of the complex and changeable trade environment,it is important for China to accelerate the construction of a trade power by conforming to the development trend of cross-border e-commerce,responding to the call of the national top-level strategy,and actively using the new model of cross-border e-commerce to promote the high-quality development of foreign trade.Firstly,the connotation and basic theoretical analysis of the high quality of cross-border e-commerce and foreign trade in China are first carried out,and the theoretical support of the paper is provided with the help of transaction cost theory,trade facilitation theory and trade intermediary theory.Then,the development of China’s foreign trade is analyzed from the three aspects of foreign trade development scale,foreign trade structure and foreign trade mode,and the development of cross-border e-commerce in China is analyzed from the main stages of cross-border e-commerce development,transaction situation and comprehensive pilot zone exploration,so as to provide a realistic basis for the paper.On the basis of in-depth analysis of the connotation of high-quality development in the new era,based on the five new development concepts of innovative development,coordinated development,green development,open development and shared development,the entropy value method is used to construct the evaluation index system of high-quality development of foreign trade,and the "cross-border e-commerce development level" index is constructed in three parts: service support,trade foundation and industrial foundation,and it is analyzed in detail in time and space.Using the panel data of 29 provinces(cities)Chinese mainland from 2011 to 2020,the fixed-effect model and mediation-effect model were used to conduct empirical research on the high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce driven by cross-border e-commerce through descriptive statistical analysis,benchmark regression analysis,impact mechanism analysis,robustness test,heterogeneity analysis,etc.The results show that cross-border e-commerce can significantly promote the high-quality development of foreign trade.From the perspective of the mechanism of action,scientific and technological progress is an important channel for cross-border e-commerce to promote the high-quality development of foreign trade,and cross-border e-commerce can effectively promote the high-quality development of foreign trade by improving science and technology,and some intermediary effects exist.Based on this,the main conclusions are drawn and corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are put forward,such as: implementing the innovation-driven development strategy and cultivating new advantages in foreign trade competition;Enhance the coordination of regional development and adapt to the trend of high-quality development;Actively implement the concept of green development,help foreign trade improve quality and efficiency,and promote the high-quality development of China’s foreign trade to a new level.
