In recent years,Chinese policy documents have emphasized the importance of taking data as the key factor of production and enhancing the whole industrial chain of agriculture with the deep integration of digital technology and agriculture and rural areas.For a long time,China’s agricultural industry has been hampered by the natural environment and faced with market risks under the mode of "smallholder farmers and large market".The industrial environment is obviously weak and uncertain.The destruction and reshaping of global competitiveness brought by the digital revolution is both an opportunity and a challenge for the agricultural industry.Agility,considered a key capability to respond effectively to the digital revolution,is now paying dividends in manufacturing and services by fostering agile development models,while the application of digital technologies in agriculture is improving agriculture’s awareness and responsiveness to market conditions through benefits such as easing information asymmetry and reducing transaction costs.However,few studies have discussed the impact of digitalization on agility in the agricultural field,and there is also a lack of quantitative measurement of the agility of the agricultural industry.Therefore,it is of far-reaching significance to study the promoting effect of digitalization of agriculture on the agility of the agricultural industry,and to find a new path for sustainable development and competitiveness improvement of agriculture from the perspective of improving agility ability.The research content of this paper is as follows: First,based on the existing research and theoretical support at home and abroad,the theoretical connotation of cultivating agricultural industry agility is proposed,and then the theoretical logic of agricultural digital transformation to enhance agricultural industry agility is sorted out from the perspective of industrial system,production system and management system.Secondly,the development environment of agricultural digital transformation was analyzed from multiple perspectives,and the development degree of agricultural digital transformation was measured by input-output method.Thirdly,based on the theoretical connotation of cultivating agricultural industry agility,a comprehensive evaluation index system of agricultural industry agility was constructed from the perspectives of perception and response ability,response adjustment ability and innovation ability,and entropy method was used to measure agricultural industry agility.Finally,the regression results of static panel model and spatial autoregressive model were used to provide statistical support for the enhancement effect of agricultural digital transformation on agricultural industry agility,and the heterogeneity analysis and robustness test were conducted.The research found that:(1)our country is forming a new economic growth point in the fields of the Internet,the Internet of things and digital technology.The development momentum of agricultural digital transformation in our country is getting better.It is forming a digital transformation pattern in which the government vigorously leads,enterprises actively drive,cooperatives and small farmers widely participate;(2)Although the development pattern of agricultural industry agility is "high in the east and low in the west",the development speed of various regions has accelerated since 2017.While the eastern and northeast regions maintain their development advantages,the development process of central and western regions has accelerated,and the development gap between different regions has narrowed.Nowadays,the pattern of unbalanced development is gradually changing from inter-regional differences to intra-regional differences.(3)The agricultural industry agility in China is not only positively promoted by the agricultural digitalization transformation,but also affected by the spatial spillover of agricultural industry agility in other provinces.Moreover,the spatial relevance of agricultural industry agility in provinces is affected by both geographical proximity factors and similar economic development levels.(4)Agricultural digitalization transformation has significant regional heterogeneity in promoting agricultural industry agility,and there is still a large space for the dividends of digitalization investment in the central and western regions.
