| Chinese country’s industrial development is at a critical point in transforming the development concept and adjusting the unbalanced structure.The digital economy and regional innovation are considered to be important supports for promoting the upgrading of the industrial structure.The "14th Five-Year Plan" proposed to build new advantages of digital economy and promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries.Under the background of unbalanced and inadequate economic development in China,it is urgent to grasp the development characteristics of regional digital economy in China,clarify the influence mechanism of digital economy on the upgrading of industrial structure,and deeply release the dividend of digital economy development.In view of this,studying the spatial distribution pattern of digital economy and its effect on industrial structure upgrading is of great significance for promoting the coordinated and rapid development of digital economy and building digital China and empowering the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries.This paper reveals the influence mechanism of digital economy on industrial structure upgrading from the perspective of direct impact effect,intermediary effect through regional innovation and spatial spillover effect,and puts forward corresponding research hypotheses.Based on the three dimensions of digital environment,digital industry and digital integration,the evaluation index system of China’s digital economy development level is constructed,and the improved CRITIC-TOPSIS method is used to measure the digital economy development level of 30 provinces(cities,autonomous regions)in China from 2013 to 2020.The spatial distribution pattern of digital economy development at provincial level in China was revealed from four time sections of 2014,2016,2018 and 2020 by natural breakpoint grading method and kernel density analysis of GIS spatial analysis.On this basis,the panel benchmark regression model is constructed to measure the direct effect of digital economy on the upgrading of China’s industrial structure,and the indirect effect of digital economy on the upgrading of industrial structure through regional innovation is measured through the intermediary effect model,and the influence path of digital economy on the upgrading of industrial structure is revealed.Finally,from the perspective of "local-neighborhood" effect,the spatial Durbin model is used to study the spatial spillover effect of digital economy on China’s industrial structure upgrading,and the regional heterogeneity analysis of spillover effect is carried out.The results show that:(1)China’ s digital economic development trend is good,the overall level of digital economic development is on the rise,but the provincial differences are obvious,showing a "strong southeast,weak northwest" provincial development pattern;with "BeijingTianjin-Hebei" and "Yangtze River Delta" as the high concentration areas,the "coreperiphery" circle structure has been formed.Each concentration area has been connected into a piece in space,and the spatial correlation of digital economy has gradually strengthened.(2)The benchmark regression results show that digital economy has a significant and direct promoting effect on industrial structure upgrading,and regional innovation plays a partial intermediary role in the process of digital economy driving industrial structure upgrading,accounting for 39.631% of the total effect.(3)Based on the perspective of "localneighborhood" effect,the digital economy from the global level for the promotion of industrial structure upgrade effect significantly,can promote the region industrial structure upgrading and the adjacent area industrial structure development positive spillover effects,but the regional heterogeneity analysis shows that spillover effect in China’s eastern,central and western three areas exist significant regional differences,The spillover effect is obvious in the eastern and western regions,but not in the central region.According to the research results,in order to give full play to the spillover effect of digital economy on the upgrading of industrial structure and the intermediary role of regional innovation,it is necessary to coordinate the development layout of digital economy and strengthen the implementation of innovationdriven development strategy,so as to promote the balanced and rapid development of digital economy and drive the upgrading of China’s industrial structure. |
