China is going to enter the stage of moderate aging, which can not be reversed and continues to accelerate, accompanied by the health problems of the elderly are becoming more and more serious. In rural areas where social endowment resources are scarce, family endowment with children as the main care is still the preferred way for rural elderly.Previous studies have shown that the health effects of child care on rural elderly are complex and diverse. Most of the current research is focused on the impact of children’s financial help, child care,or child support in the health of older people. The support of non-economic and emotional investment of children is not enough. As China’s development enters a new stage, the requirements of the elderly for life have increased, and more attention has been paid to the emotional injection in family care.Paying attention to the relationship between child care and the health of the rural elderly is conducive to improving the pension function of rural families and enhancing the health and well-being of the rural elderly.Solving the problem of old-age care and health problems of the elderly in rural areas is not only the focus of rural social governance, but also the foundation for the construction of a better life, which is of great significance to rural revitalization. This study selects the perspective of emotional engagement in child care to explore how children’s non economic care for the elderly affects the health level of rural elderly.Through field interviews with the elderly from some poverty-stricken families in six townships in D County,Hubei Province,we can find out in depth the specific situation of children taking care of the rural elderly and the health situation of the rural elderly.A total of 330 questionnaires were collected by multi-stage sampling. On this basis, from the children’s words and deeds affinity and courtesy, care and meticulous, initiative and enthusiasm for interactive communication of these three aspects, six variables were selected as independent variables:communication attitude, intimacy degree, housekeeping, purchase of goods, telephone contact and visiting at home; From three aspects of physical health, mental health, and subjective health, this paper selects three variables of elderly people’s ability to take care of themselves, their level of depression, and their self rated health as dependent variables, and conducts empirical research through an ordered logistic regression model to analyze the impact of emotional input in child care on the health level of elderly people in rural villages.Research has found that emotional input in child care is significantly good for the health level of rural elderly people.Specifically: Firstly,in terms of affinity and politeness in words and deeds, the better the communication attitude and intimacy between children and elderly parents, the higher the overall health level of the elderly.Secondly,in terms of the carefulness and meticulousness of care, children’s purchases of items are positively affecting the overall health level of the elderly;children’s housework is beneficial to the physical and mental health of the elderly, but not to the self-evaluation health of the elderly. On the basis of controlling relevant variables and considering endogenous problems, this effect is still significant, and the possible explanation is that children taking care of housework for the elderly will increase the elderly’s dependence on their children, which will easily lead to lower evaluation of their own abilities. Thus,it is not conducive to the self-evaluation of health of the elderly.Thirdly,in terms of the initiative and enthusiasm of interactive communication, children’s telephone contact and home visits both have a positive influence on the overall health level of the elderly. This means that children should try to improve and optimize the parent-child relationship with elderly parents, provide appropriate and appropriate care resources for elderly parents, increase the frequency of contact with elderly parents, and pay more attention to greeting elderly parents, which can significantly improve the health level of elderly parents. Finally, with the aim of improving the health level of the elderly in rural areas,it is proposed to vigorously promote the traditional culture of filial piety, encourage children to return to their responsibilities for the elderly to their elderly parents, and strive to create a harmonious atmosphere of mutual respect, mutual understanding and mutual help between children and the elderly, and promote the harmony and stability of family relations;Strengthen the publicity of rural health education, increase the promotion of healthy diet, lifestyle and other education, and improve the health awareness and health literacy of rural children and the elderly;Establish a unified elderly care and medical insurance account, improve the level of rural social security, and provide high-quality and affordable medical services for the elderly, thereby ensuring their health and life;In the reality that the care of children cannot be satisfied,it is necessary to accelerate the construction and development of rural old-age stations, and establish rural old-age stations that can meet the diversified needs of the rural elderly such as care needs and spiritual comfort needs as soon as possible.
