Research On The Impact Of TBT On China’s Agricultural Exports Under Special Trade Attention

With the increasing awareness of trade protection in various countries,traditional tariff barriers are decreasing,replaced by more hidden technical trade barriers(TBT).As a large agricultural country,this has undoubtedly had a significant impact on China’s agricultural export trade.However,since the trade barriers set by importing countries do not necessarily cause substantial and serious damage to exporting countries,excessive attention to these technical trade barriers will cause waste of resources,so this paper uses whether China raises TBT special trade concerns to screen and remove irrelevant technical trade barriers,focusing on technical trade barriers that have had a serious impact on China’s agricultural export trade.Study how these technical barriers to trade are different from those that do not raise special trade concerns on agricultural exports,so as to facilitate the rational allocation of resources in China,and whether the special trade concerns(STC)instruments can alleviate substantive technical barriers to trade to promote agricultural exports.In order to solve the research problem,this paper analyzes the impact path of TBT on agricultural product export by combing the relevant research status of domestic and foreign scholars,and based on this,selects control variables,and uses the modified trade gravity model to study the impact of TBT on agricultural product export under special trade concerns.The influence of TBT is obtained: TBT under special trade concerns will have a restraining effect on agricultural product exports,and the strength of the effect is greater than that of TBT without special trade concerns.This conclusion still holds after a series of robustness tests.Considering the hysteresis of the effect of the special trade attention means,after the hysteresis test,it is concluded that the use of the special trade attention can alleviate the restraining effect brought by the substantive technical barriers to trade in the next 1-2 years.In addition,this paper further regresses the classification of agricultural products in order to facilitate the reasonable inclination of special trade attention resources.Based on the above research,this paper puts forward suggestions that a sound TBT special trade concern mechanism should be established and flexibly used and improved the relevant laws and regulations of special trade concern targeting,so as to better help Chinese enterprises use relevant laws and regulations to protect their rights and interests,overcome substantive technical barriers,and provide reference for promoting the export of China’s agricultural products.
