| Performance appraisal,as a human resource management tool,plays an important role in testing the performance level of employees,guiding and standardizing their behaviors,motivating and building common vision and so on.It is conducive to the realization of strategic objectives of enterprises and an important management means for enterprises to improve efficiency.With the continuous advancement of the national economic transformation strategy,the profit space of construction enterprises in the traditional industry is further compressed,and the survival pressure and competitive pressure are increasing day by day.Only by constantly optimizing enterprise management and striving to improve the quality and efficiency,can construction enterprises gain a firm foothold in the industry,and the implementation of effective performance assessment is imminent.However,there are various kinds of performance appraisal theories and methods,and the advantages and disadvantages and applicable situations are different.Blindly applying them is difficult to achieve the expected effect of improving performance.Only by combining with the actual situation of the enterprise,analyzing its own problems objectively and introducing appropriate performance appraisal methods,can the maximum effectiveness of performance appraisal be brought into play.In the early stage of its establishment,SH Construction company developed rapidly by virtue of its clear business direction and refined personnel structure.However,with the change of market environment and the expansion of SH Construction company’s business,the number of employees of the company increases,the operation efficiency and development speed of the company decrease obviously,and the profit rate of the company declines.Therefore,the managers of SH Construction company introduce the performance appraisal mode of other companies for reference,and start to establish the performance appraisal system of the company initially.However,many problems are exposed in the process of implementation.As a result,the actual effect is far from the expected effect,which cannot support the further development of the enterprise.As the mainstay of the enterprise,middle-level employees act as both the executor and the manager in many situations,which is an important link in the management link of the enterprise.Their performance has a direct impact on the realization of the enterprise’s strategic goals.Therefore,it is an urgent task of SH Construction Company to optimize the performance appraisal system of middle-level employees.This paper takes the performance appraisal system of middle-level employees of SH Construction Company as the research object.On the basis of consulting relevant literature on performance appraisal and mastering main performance appraisal theories and methods,it summarizes the main viewpoints of relevant theories and analyzes and compares the advantages and disadvantages,which enriches the theoretical basis for this study.Through the form of questionnaire to investigate the problems of the enterprise’s middle-level employees in performance appraisal,and the results of the multi-dimensional analysis,the enterprise’s middle-level employees performance appraisal mainly exists disconnection with the company’s strategic objectives,assessment indicators are unreasonable,assessment direction is not comprehensive,lack of performance communication and feedback,performance appraisal results insufficient use.In view of the problems,the balanced scorecard theory is applied in combination with the actual situation of the enterprise to optimize the design of the performance appraisal system for middle-level employees from the four dimensions of finance,customers,internal operation,learning and growth,and to formulate and implement safeguard measures,hoping to help SH Construction company get rid of the dilemma of performance appraisal for middle-level employees as soon as possible and help the development of the enterprise.Finally,the paper summarizes this research,proposes the possible shortcomings in this research,and looks forward to the future research direction of this topic. |
