| For a long time,China has played an important role in the international division of labor with the advantages of real economy and labor endowment,and has been given the international label of "Made in China".However,the dilemma of China’s manufacturing industry being large but not strong has become increasingly urgent with the rising labor costs.In July 2017,the State Council issued the Development Plan for a New Generation of Artificial Intelligence,which defined the future development path and goals of China’s artificial intelligence.By 2030,the "three-step" strategy will be adopted to bring China’s artificial intelligence theory,technology and application to the world’s advanced level,and become the world’s major artificial intelligence innovation center.AI is an important module for countries to build their core competitiveness,and it is also a key link for industrial transformation and value chain upgrading.Relying on AI technology to change the traditional production mode,innovate core technology,and break through the "low-end lock" of China’s manufacturing industry is the driving force for China’s manufacturing industry to achieve "overtaking at a curve" and move from a "big manufacturing country" to a "strong manufacturing country".The purpose of this paper is to study whether the application of artificial intelligence technology can promote the position of global value chain of manufacturing industry in our country.This article first introduced the research background,explained the research theory and the practice significance,sorted out the domestic and foreign research summary from three levels,elaborated this article research content and the research method,and clear the main innovation points and shortcomings of this article.After introducing the theoretical basis of this paper,it explains the current situation and motivation of the development of our manufacturing industry and artificial intelligence,and the connotation and characteristics of artificial intelligence.Then,this paper puts forward three mechanisms of artificial intelligence to improve the position of global value chain of manufacturing industry,including innovation mechanism,resource redistribution,production promotion effect,and three research hypotheses.On the basis of theoretical mechanism and research hypothesis,this paper calculates the global value chain status index by forward and backward participation with the data of robot stock and value-added trade in our country’s manufacturing industry,a fixed-effect econometric model was established to analyze the results,and the reliability of the results was verified by the robust and endogenous analysis,at last,the paper analyzes the mechanism of the three mechanisms.The results show that artificial intelligence has a positive promotion to the position of global value chain in our manufacturing industry,and the results are robust and reliable after replacing the core explanatory variables,measuring methods and eliminating outliers,the stock of industrial robots in the same period in the United States is selected as the tool variable in this paper,and the possible endogeneity problem is solved.Compared with low-tech industry and low-usage-density industry,the application of artificial intelligence helps high-tech industry and high-usage-density industry to upgrade the position of global value chain more significantly.Through the mechanism test,it is found that AI can promote the enterprise’s global value chain status by promoting innovation effect,resource reallocation effect and production effect.Finally,from accelerating the integration of artificial intelligence industry,enhancing the independent R & D Innovation ability of enterprises,breaking through the artificial intelligence theory and technology system,to strengthen the training of personnel,strengthen the supervision of the legal system four aspects of the proposed recommendations. |
