| In recent years,the global development and application of artificial intelligence has gained a strong momentum,gradually integrating into social and economic development.The report of the20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly states that "promote the high-end,intelligent,and green development of the manufacturing industry","promote the integration and cluster development of strategic emerging industries,and build a new generation of growth engines such as information technology and artificial intelligence.".As the core driving force of the new round of industrial transformation,artificial intelligence can create more new space and opportunities for the development of the manufacturing industry,and promote many new technologies,new products,and new models.It is an important tool for promoting the overall leap in the level of the manufacturing industry.Therefore,in the context of intelligent transformation,it is of great significance to deeply explore the impact of artificial intelligence on the innovation performance of manufacturing enterprises and reveal its impact mechanism,in order to promote the improvement of innovation performance of manufacturing enterprises and achieve intelligent transformation and development.Based on Resource-based theory and Dynamic capability theory,this paper constructs a theoretical analysis framework for the impact of artificial intelligence on innovation performance of manufacturing enterprises.Using data from A-share manufacturing companies listed in China’s Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets from 2013 to 2021,this paper uses a two-way fixed effect model to explore the impact of artificial intelligence on innovation performance of manufacturing enterprises and its mechanism.The following conclusions are drawn:(1)Artificial intelligence significantly promotes the improvement of innovation performance of manufacturing enterprises.(2)Dynamic capabilities play a significant mediating role in the process of AI influencing manufacturing enterprise innovation performance,with the largest mediating effect of innovation capabilities,followed by absorptive capabilities,and the smallest mediating effect of adaptive capabilities.(3)For different types of manufacturing enterprises,there are significant differences in the role of artificial intelligence in promoting enterprise innovation performance.Specifically,AI plays a greater role in promoting the innovation performance of state-owned enterprises,large enterprises,and enterprises in the communication industry.Based on the research conclusions,this article proposes countermeasures and suggestions from the following three aspects: first,to accelerate the deep integration of artificial intelligence technology and manufacturing industry;The second is to attach importance to the construction and cultivation of dynamic capabilities of manufacturing enterprises;The third is to implement differentiated enterprise AI development strategies based on enterprise conditions. |
