| In the context of the new era,China’s economic growth model has entered the present stage of high-quality development,structural contradictions between different industries and regions,pressure on ecological and environmental protection and unreasonable distribution of resource factors have put forward higher requirements for sustainable development of the economy and society,and in the critical period of economic growth rate shift and industrial structure adjustment,the digital economy is gradually becoming an important driver of China’s high-quality economic development.The digital economy is gradually becoming an important driving force for China’s high-quality economic development.With digital technology and data as the key elements,the digital economy is characterized by high technology,platform ecology and innovative integration,which affects all aspects of economic production and life.Therefore,it is important to study how the digital economy can empower the high-quality development of regional economy to achieve higher quality development.Based on this,this paper takes Anhui Province as the research object and explores the mechanism and realistic path of the digital economy enabling high-quality economic development,in order to provide some theoretical support and practical guidance for the digital economy and high-quality economic development in Anhui Province.Firstly,we systematically sort out the studies related to digital economy and high-quality economic development to support the subsequent theoretical analysis and empirical research.Secondly,we define the core concepts,analyze the theoretical mechanism of digital economy empowering high quality economic development with existing studies,and put forward the research hypotheses.Then,based on the principle of index system establishment,the evaluation index system of digital economy development is constructed based on the current situation of digital economy development,and the evaluation index system of digital economy development level is constructed from the dimensions of digital infrastructure,digital industry,digital application and R&D and innovation ability,and the evaluation index system of high-quality economic development in Anhui Province is constructed from three aspects of quality change,efficiency change and power change,and the entropy value-The Topsis method is used to measure and combine with the time series evolution law analysis to make the evaluation.Finally,the direct effect of digital economy enabling high-quality economic development in Anhui province is tested empirically by using the fixed effect model,the instrumental variable regression model adopted by 2SLS and the two-way fixed effect model.The intermediary effect of industrial structure upgrading,industrial structure rationalization and industrial structure upgrading is tested by combining the intermediary effect model and the threshold effect model.Furthermore,the nonlinear characteristics of threshold variables including environmental regulation,rationalization of industrial structure and upgrading of industrial structure are further analyzed.The results of the study indicate that:First,combining the index measurement results and spatial layout analysis,it can be seen that the overall level of digital economy and highquality economic development in Anhui Province is low,and shows significant regional differences.The spatial layout of the two time sections shows that the level of digital economy and economic quality development in Anhui Province has been significantly improved,and the problem of uneven regional development has been alleviated to some extent.Secondly,digital economy can significantly contribute to the highquality economic development in Anhui Province.On the basis of considering endogeneity,every 1 unit increase in the level of digital economy will lead to 0.421 units increase in the high-quality economic development.From the sub-dimensional test,the direct empowering effect of digital economy on high-quality economic development of Anhui province is mainly reflected in the change of growth quality and growth momentum.Thirdly,digital economy can indirectly empower economic highquality development by promoting industrial structure upgrading,and the proportion of indirect effect to the total effect is 33.31%.The results of the intermediary effect test of the industrial structure upgrading subsystem show that the digital economy can indirectly empower economic highquality development mainly by promoting the process of industrial structure advanced.Fourth,the empowering effect of digital economy on high-quality economic development in Anhui Province is characterized by marginal incremental increase with environmental regulation and industrial structure rationalization variables as thresholds.When the environmental regulation and industrial structure rationalization variables cross the thresholds of0.391 and 0.021,respectively,the impact of digital economy on the highquality economic development of Anhui Province increases.Based on the above measurement results and empirical results,five suggestions are proposed.First,to comprehensively promote the development of digital economy,we should strengthen the construction of digital infrastructure and also take into account the improvement of digital economy regulatory system.Second,to develop a differentiated digital economy development strategy and promote regional synergistic development.Third,promote the process of upgrading industrial structure and enhance industrial competitiveness.Fourth,strengthen the implementation of environmental regulations and focus on the development of digital ecology.Fifth,increase the support of talents and cultivate a high-level composite digital talent. |
