| Scientific and technological innovation is an important support for social and economic development and an inexhaustible source of power for a country’s core competitiveness.The 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China once again pointed out that we should firmly adhere to the development concept of science and technology as the first productive force and innovation as the first driving force,firmly implement the talent power and innovation driven development strategy,and lay a solid foundation for high-quality economic development.Against the background of China’s economic development entering the new normal,the extensive development at the cost of excessive consumption of energy resources and destruction of the ecological environment has not met the requirements of China’s economic transformation.Improving energy utilization efficiency,protecting the ecological environment,and improving the quality of economic development through technological innovation have become the primary choice of the Party and the country.The Party and government urgently hope to use technological innovation to promote high-quality economic development.The Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration ranks among the top in several large economic circles in China,both in terms of technological innovation and economic development.It is a demonstration area for high-quality economic development in China and an irreplaceable position in national economic growth.Therefore,studying the impact of technological innovation on high-quality economic development of the Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration has important theoretical significance for giving play to the exemplary and leading role of the Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration in national economic development.In order to fully understand the current development situation of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration,this article analyzes and demonstrates the impact of technological innovation on high-quality economic development in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration from multiple research perspectives.Firstly,this article reviews the existing data and relevant theoretical literature;Then,it theoretically defines the connotation of the core concepts and analyzes the mechanism of action;Then,it analyzes the current situation of technological innovation and economic development in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration and points out the existing problems;Secondly,based on the principles of indicator construction,an evaluation index system for scientific and technological innovation in urban agglomerations is constructed from three dimensions,and an evaluation index system for high-quality economic development in urban agglomerations is constructed from five new development concepts.The principal component analysis method is used to evaluate the high-quality economic development level of urban agglomerations in the Yangtze River Delta;Thirdly,using the entropy method,the paper deeply analyzes the coordinated development degree of the two systems of technological innovation and high-quality economic development in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration through the coupling degree model and the coupling coordination degree model;Secondly,using fixed effect and regulatory effect models,we test whether technological innovation can significantly promote the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration economy,and whether the level of energy consumption plays a positive regulatory role in the process of technological innovation promoting the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration economy;Finally,the conclusions of the study are summarized and policy recommendations and research prospects are proposed.The research results show that:(1)Comparison of high-quality economic development levels among cities in urban agglomerations shows that Shanghai ranks first in the comprehensive score ranking.Nanjing City,Suzhou City,Wuxi City,Changzhou City,Nantong City,Zhenjiang City,Yancheng City,Yangzhou City,and Taizhou City in Jiangsu Province are ranked 2nd,5th,8th,10 th,11th,13 th,14th,15 th,and 18 th respectively;Hangzhou City,Ningbo City,Shaoxing City,Jiaxing City,Taizhou City,Huzhou City,Zhoushan City,and Jinhua City in Zhejiang Province are ranked 3rd,4th,12 th,16th,17 th,20th,21 st,and 22 nd respectively,while Hefei City,Wuhu City,Ma’anshan City,Anqing City,Chuzhou City,Xuancheng City,Tongling City,and Chizhou City in Anhui Province are ranked 6th,7th,9th,19 th,23rd,24 th,25th,and 26 th respectively.This indicates that there is a gap in the level of high-quality economic development among cities,which has not reached a balanced and coordinated development state;(2)Comparison of high-quality economic development levels among provinces in urban agglomerations: The overall development level of Jiangsu Province is slightly higher than that of Zhejiang Province,while there is still a large gap between Anhui Province,Jiangsu Province,and Zhejiang Province.This indicates that the high-quality economic development level among provinces in urban agglomerations is not coordinated,and there are significant regional differences;(3)Through principal component analysis,it is found that among the five dimensions included in the evaluation index system for high-quality economic development,the innovation driven dimension has the highest weight,which means that innovation has the most significant impact on high-quality economic development;(4)The coupling degree between the two systems of scientific and technological innovation and high-quality economic development in cities of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration is relatively high,but the level of coupling and coordination is relatively low.The level of scientific and technological innovation in most cities lags behind the level of high-quality economic development,and the two have not yet formed a highly coordinated and mutually promoting development pattern;(5)Scientific and technological innovation can significantly promote the high-quality economic development of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration,so it is necessary to increase investment in scientific and technological innovation and improve the level of scientific and technological innovation;(6)The level of energy consumption has a negative impact on high-quality economic development,but it plays a positive regulatory role in promoting high-quality economic development in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration through technological innovation.This provides a theoretical reference for reducing energy consumption levels through technological innovation,promoting energy conservation and emission reduction,achieving carbon peak carbon neutrality goals,and achieving high-quality economic development. |
