| The rapid development of digital technology has a profound impact on the production transformation of human society,and is gradually reshaping the mode of production and industrial model,becoming the core driving force for high-quality economic development.Therefore,it is an important proposition to study how digital economy enables industrial structure upgrading.Moreover,considering the unique economic system of our country,it is certain that the government will play an important role in this change.Based on this background,this paper will use urban panel data to empirically test the impact of digital economy on industrial structure upgrading,and on this basis,use the threshold model to empirically analyze the relationship between digital economy and industrial structure upgrading under government intervention.Taking the panel data of 234 cities from 2011 to 2019 as samples,this paper firstly constructed the evaluation index system of the comprehensive development level of urban digital economy,and calculated the digital economy development index after objectively assigning weights with entropy weight method.Then,from the two dimensions of the distribution of industrial quality and the quantity ratio relationship between industries,it divided three indicators to measure the upgrading of industrial structure,based on which the empirical analysis was conducted.The empirical results show that digital economy as a whole can promote the upgrading of industrial structure.After the introduction of government intervention as the threshold variable,it is found that digital economy has different impacts on industrial structure upgrading under different levels of government intervention.This impact is positive and increases with the increase of government intervention.These conclusions are still valid in the series of the robustness test.Finally,the heterogeneity analysis by city size is carried out.The results show that there are significant differences in the effect of digital economy on industrial structure upgrading under government intervention among cities of different sizes.The effect of digital economy on industrial structure rationalization and overall quality improvement of first-tier cities is the strongest,and the role of digital economy on industrial structure upgrading of second-tier cities is more significant.The discussion of the relationship between digital economy and industrial structure upgrading from the perspective of government intervention is helpful to clarify the relationship among the three,and has important implications for relevant departments to carry out relevant work differently according to local conditions. |
