Research On Rural Mutual Support For The Elderly In Mountainous Areas Of Southwest Hubei Province

Under the global trend of aging,the problem of social retirement in China can not be ignored.Due to the constraints of natural geographical environment and regional economic development level,the aging population and the hollowing out of villages in the mountainous area of southwest Hubei are remarkable.It is necessary and urgent to build a rural elderly care model.This study selects Jinlongba village in Enshi City,Hubei Province as the research object,and uses literature analysis and fieldwork methods to study the practice of rural mutual support for the elderly in mountainous areas.Jinlongba village is a typical traditional village in the mountainous region of southwest Hubei Province.And the problem of village elderly care has become increasingly serious.The village has carried out the practice of mutual aid rural elderly care,which has realized the integration of rural elderly care resources,the enrichment of spiritual and cultural life of the elderly and the re-organization,and the construction of rural mutual aid community.We owe the success to the active advocacy of village elites,the continuation of the tradition of mutual help,the support of village committee and active participation of villagers.There are some problems in the practice,such as insufficient development funds,low level of mutual aid and low organization.Analysis of the reasons revealed that the limitations of natural conditions in mountainous areas,the imbalance,the weak willingness of some elderly people,and the insufficient participation of social forces.A comprehensive analysis suggests that the development of mutual aid pensions in mountainous areas should be improved in four ways: increasing government support,enhancing the awareness of mutual aid pensions,mobilizing social forces to participate,and learning from the experience of other mutual aid pensions.
