| The upgrading of industrial structure is an inevitable requirement for promoting the healthy development of the national economy,and it is also the premise and foundation for achieving highquality economic development.Since the reform and opening up,China’s industrial structure upgrading has achieved certain results,but China’s industrial development is still facing the problems of unbalanced development of industrial structure,insufficient technological innovation ability and weak industrial competitiveness.China’s industrial structure upgrade urgently needs a new driving engine.With the rise of the wave of digital economy,the development of digital industry and industrial digitization has also spawned a large number of emerging industries and expanded market demand.This trend will promote the construction of new industrial models and systems.Therefore,the digital economy will be the key force for China to realize the upgrading of industrial structure.In the context of the new normal,the realization of ’ structural adjustment and steady growth ’ not only needs to rely on the domestic market,but also needs to pay attention to the development of the international market.It is necessary to make full use of the two markets and two resources at home and abroad.Therefore,to break through the dilemma of industrial structure upgrading,it is necessary not only to develop the digital economy,but also to rely on foreign trade to supplement capital and technological power.This thesis takes the relationship between digital economy development,foreign trade and industrial structure upgrading as the research topic,focusing on the analysis of the driving mechanism and conditional process of the three,hoping to provide new thinking for China’s industrial structure upgrading plan,better practice the “double circulation” strategy,and achieve high-level opening up and industrial modernization goals.First of all,this thesis combines the literature on digital economy development,foreign trade and industrial structure upgrading to sort out and review relevant research.On this basis,the theoretical research basis and logical framework of this thesis are established.From the direct role of digital economy development in industrial structure upgrading and the intermediary mechanism of foreign trade in it,theoretical analysis is carried out at different levels.Secondly,the current situation of industrial structure,digital economy and foreign trade is analyzed respectively.The entropy method is used to measure and analyze the upgrading degree of China’s industrial structure,and the evaluation index system is constructed to measure and analyze the development level of digital economy.The current situation of China’s foreign trade is analyzed from the perspectives of foreign trade scale and foreign trade dependence.Finally,using the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2003 to 2020,the direct effect of digital economy development on industrial structure upgrading is tested by fixed effect.The mediating effect model is constructed to test the mediating effect of foreign trade scale and export trade dependence on the upgrading of industrial structure driven by the development of digital economy.The conclusions of the study are as follows:Firstly,the thesis’ theoretical analysis suggests that the upgrading of industrial structure is mainly promoted by the supply-side and demand-side effects of digital economy development.Specifically,digital economy development can lead to an expansion of foreign trade scale and increased dependence on export trade,which serves as an intermediary mechanism through which digital economy development influences the upgrading of industrial structure.Secondly,from the analysis of the current situation of digital economy development,foreign trade and industrial structure upgrading,China’s industrial structure upgrading level has been continuously improved since 2003-2020,but there is obvious regional heterogeneity in industrial structure upgrading,and the tertiary industry is the main driving force for national economic development.At present,the development scale of China’s digital economy is gradually expanding,and the digital economy and industrial structure are gradually integrated.Industrial digitization is an important engine to promote the development of digital economy.The overall situation of China’s foreign trade is good,and the trade surplus has obvious advantages,but there are regional differences in the development of foreign trade.Thirdly,from the empirical part of digital economy development,foreign trade and industrial structure upgrading,the development of digital economy has obviously promoted the upgrading of China’s industrial structure,and also promoted the rationalization and upgrading of industrial structure.This conclusion is still valid after many robustness tests.The development of digital economy has promoted the expansion of foreign trade scale and increased the level of dependence on export trade.Foreign trade is the intermediary transmission mechanism that the development of digital economy promotes the upgrading of industrial structure.The development of digital economy can expand the scale of foreign trade,increase the level of dependence on export trade,and promote the upgrading of industrial structure.Based on this,several suggestions are put forward:(1)deepening the development of digital economy and promoting the transformation and upgrading of industrial digital.(2)Relying on the development of digital economy,create a new trend of foreign trade opening.(3)Improve the quality of foreign trade,expand opening up to inject power into the upgrading of industrial structure. |
