| In 2022,the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement(RCEP)officially came into force,becoming the most populous,largest economic and trade scale and most promising free trade area in the world today.With the full implementation of RCEP,China and the members of the market connectivity,factor resource sharing,and continuous deepening of cooperation,promoting the formation of you in me,me in you integration development pattern,enhancing the resilience and space of China’s economic development,for Anhui Province,as an inland province,how to tap and use the opportunities created by RCEP,to seek new growth points for foreign trade development,which is to promote The high-quality development of Anhui’s foreign trade is particularly important.Based on the analysis of relevant trade theories,the article constructs a stochastic frontier gravity model and focuses on the trade potential of Anhui Province with RCEP member countries.The article firstly reviews and summarises relevant research theories,and after analysing the current trade situation between Anhui and RCEP member countries,it further takes the RCEP member countries with which Anhui Province has trade dealings from 2005 to 2019 as the research sample.The results show that the trade potential of Anhui and RCEP member countries can be classified in terms of trade efficiency and trade potential.The results show that,in terms of factors affecting trade efficiency and potential,the traditional core variables still have a significant impact on bilateral trade between Anhui and RCEP member countries,with economic size and bordering China having a significant positive effect on bilateral trade;population size and distance having a negative effect on trade between the two sides.Among the expanded explanatory variables,trade integration,investment freedom,air cargo volume and the signing of a free trade agreement with China have a significant positive effect on bilateral trade;trade freedom of trading partner countries has a significant negative effect on bilateral trade.In terms of trade efficiency classification markets of trading partners,nine countries-Japan,Korea,Thailand,Australia,Singapore,the Philippines,Indonesia,Malaysia and Vietnam-are expansionary markets;Cambodia and Laos are developmental markets,Myanmar and New Zealand are iceberg markets.Based on the above research,the article argues that in future trade with RCEP member countries,Anhui Province should strengthen its transport infrastructure,seize the opportunity of RCEP development,continue to exploit its comparative advantages and optimise its trade partnerships at different levels. |
