With the increasing number of large-scale disruptive events around the world, building resilience has become a priority for many multinational companies. It can help them quickly turn a volatile environment into an opportunity to respond to the opportunities and challenges presented by the changing external environment. At the same time, with the advent of the era of knowledge economy, relational capital occupies a pivotal position in the fierce market competition.Although there are many researches on relational capital, few people pay attention to its impact on organizational resilience of multinational enterprises. Therefore, this paper analyzes how relational capital influences organizational resilience of multinational enterprises, which is one of the innovation points of this study. In addition, this paper introduces corporate social responsibility(CSR)as a moderating effect into the study of relational capital and organizational resilience, which has important strategic significance for multinational enterprises(MNEs)in emerging countries.Due to the pressure or requirements from different stakeholders, how multinational enterprises establish friendly relations and implement their corporate social responsibility to improve the resilience of organizations to external environmental impacts has become a new research focus. Therefore,it is necessary to explore how to develop organizational resilience of transnational enterprises through relational capital and corporate social responsibility, which can help organizations enhance their adaptability to the environment when facing environmental changes,so as to help enterprises cultivate sustainable competitive potential.Based on this, this paper focuses on stakeholder theory, dynamic capacity theory and social identity theory to study the influence mechanism of different dimensions of relational capital on organizational resilience of multinational enterprises, and introduces the variable of corporate social responsibility to explore its moderating effect in the above relationships. Moreover, questionnaire data is collected as research samples for empirical analysis.Specifically, this paper will focus on the theme of "whether relational capital can promote organizational resilience of multinational enterprises",and explore the following two questions through the investigation of Chinese enterprises:(1)How the two dimensions of relational capital affect organizational resilience of multinational enterprises?(2)Does CSR play a moderating role in the relationship between relational capital and organizational resilience? In order to test the hypothesis proposed in this paper,394 data of respondents from different industries and regions in China were collected, and Mplus 8.0 software was used to test the hypothesis. Finally, the empirical results show that:(1)Both intra-organizational and extra-organizational relational capital are conducive to the improvement of organizational resilience.(2)CSR has a positive moderating effect on the relationship between relational capital and organizational resilience. The research of this paper has important theoretical and practical significance.First of all, this paper supplements and improves the existing theoretical and empirical studies on organizational resilience, explores the relationship between relational capital and organizational resilience by establishing a model, and provides theoretical guidance for transnational enterprises to build good relational capital.Second, from a practical point of view, multinational enterprises should pay attention to establishing and maintaining good relations with all parties, take active actions to increase the interaction among employees, and better fulfill corporate social responsibility,so as to ensure the sustainable development of enterprises. |
