The relationship between inbound tourism and regional economic development indirectly reflects the rationality of inbound tourism demand and supply structure, and the matching of inbound tourist source and destination spatial structure. The economic development level of 31 provinces in China is different, which leads to great differences in the development level of tourism resources and the reception capacity of service facilities in the process of tourism development, and inbound tourism also presents different development trends. Therefore, the research on the coordination degree and driving factors of inbound tourism and regional economic development will help to accurately grasp the interaction mechanism of the two systems, build a policy system more in line with the law of industrial operation, and promote cooperation and exchanges between regions.narrow the development gap.It is helpful to the improvement of tourism destination environment and international marketing strategy, and provides a reference basis for the long-term and stable development of inbound tourism after the epidemic. This paper selects 31 provinces and regions in China as the research object to evaluate the level of inbound tourism and economic development in various regions from 2010 to 2019.And then, using Coupled Coordination Evaluation Model to analyze the evolution characteristics of the coupling and coordination degree between inbound tourism and regional economic development from the perspective of time and space. Finally, the main driving force of the coupling and coordinated development of the two systems is explored by the Geographic Detector Model. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)During the study period, the development level of inbound tourism in different regions fluctuates. The evolution trend of regional economic development is relatively stable. Both of them have obvious disequilibrium in space, showing the characteristics of "strong in the east and weak in the west" as a whole.(2)The coupling coordination degree of inbound tourism and regional economic development in most parts of the country maintains the trend of "rising-falling-rising".However,the overall coordination level is low, showing a distribution pattern of high in the east and low in the west. The southeast coastal area with a high level of coordination is only primary coordination and has a downward trend;some provinces and cities in southwest China have gradually shifted from maladjustment to coordination, the difference between the southeastern provinces and the southeastern provinces has become smaller, and the gap with the moderately maladjusted northwest has widened.(3)There is a significant spatial agglomeration phenomenon in the coupling coordination degree between inbound tourism and regional economic development in China. The degree of agglomeration decreases with the passage of time. The "high-high" type aggregation is mainly concentrated in the eastern region, the "low-low" type aggregation is mainly distributed in the northwest region, and the negative correlation with the surrounding provinces and cities showing "low-high" and "high-low" types is only in Jiangxi Province and Sichuan Province.(4)The influence of each driving factor on the coupling coordination level of inbound tourism and regional economic development is different, and changes with time. The capital factor is the main driving force, followed by the system and resource elements, and the technology and structure elements have relatively weak explanatory power to the horizontal spatial layout of coupling coordination.(5)The driving effect of each driving factor on the horizontal spatial distribution of coupling coordination is significantly higher than that of a single driving factor. The integration of capital, resources, technology, system and structure can effectively improve the level of coupling and coordination between inbound tourism and regional economic development. |
