Inbound tourism industry promotes the development of regional economy, and regional economy determines the supply level of inbound tourism to a certain extent. The coordinated development of the two is helpful to promote the comprehensive development level of tourist destinations. With the opening up of our country becoming more and more vigorous, the development level of inbound tourism will continue to improve, and its significance to the regional economy will become greater and greater.Exploring the coordinated development between inbound tourism and regional economy is of great significance to increase the share of inbound tourism market and promote regional economic development. In this paper, nine provinces in the Pan-Pearl River Delta region are selected as research areas, and the coordinated development of the two systems of inbound tourism flow and regional economy from 2001 to 2016 is studied by building a coupling coordination degree model.Firstly, the comprehensive development level of inbound tourism flow and regional economy is measured, and the inbound tourism flow and regional economy in Pan-Pearl River Delta are analyzed from the time series change. Then, the coupling coordination degree between inbound tourism flow and regional economy is calculated by using the coupling coordination degree model. The temporal change and spatial pattern evolution of inbound tourism flow are analyzed from two perspectives of time and space, respectively. The standard deviation and coefficient of variation are used to measure the regional difference of coupling coordination degree. Finally,in order to clarify the spatial distribution characteristics of coupling coordination degree, the coupling coordination degree of inbound tourism flow and regional economy in Pan-Pearl River Delta region is calculated and analyzed by integrating the global spatial autocorrelation and local spatial autocorrelation models. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The inbound tourism flow and regional economy in the Pan-Pearl River Delta region show a steady upward trend. The comprehensive evaluation value of inbound tourism flows increased from 0.1554 in 2001 to 0.3302 in 2016,with an increase of 112%.Regional economic comprehensive evaluation value increased from 0.1066 in 2001 to 0.4594 in 2016,an increase of 331%.(2)The coupling coordination degree of the Pan-Pearl River Delta region shows a trend of diachronic fluctuation rising. The overall average value rises from 0.2398 in 2001 to 0.4352 in 2016,with an increase of 81%.The coordination degree rises by two grades, from moderate disorder of the disorder class to the endangered disorder of the transition class. With the evolution of time, the coupling and coordination degree of southeast coastal areas is higher, followed by the west, and the spatial pattern of "central collapse" is formed in Guizhou and Jiangxi.(3)The absolute difference of the coupling coordination degree in the Pan-Pearl River Delta region shows a trend of gradual expansion, and the standard deviation has increased by 62% in the research period. The relative difference of the coupling coordination degree shows a slow downward trend, and the decrease is 10.3% during the study period, which indicates that the regional difference of the coupling coordination degree in the Pan-Pearl River Delta region has been reduced.(4)The coupling coordination degree of the Pan-Pearl River Delta region is in a non-significant discrete state, and with the passage of time, the discrete degree increases. The global Moran's I index of coupling coordination degree is negative in 2001,2006,2011 and 2016.In terms of time variation, the absolute value of the global Moran's I index has a "N" shape development process of rising, falling and rising again.
