Driven by the national requirements for environmental protection,energy conservation and emission reduction,engine emission regulations are increasingly strict,which promotes the continuous innovation of engine technology.For engine R&D and manufacturing enterprises like YCM Company,they are faced with the challenge of accelerating the upgrading of engine products and increasing the difficulty of technology research and development.At present,there are various problems in the practice of product R&D management in YCM Company,which affect the efficiency of product R&D.Therefore,it is necessary to study the improvement of product R&D management of YCM Company.In this paper,literature research method,interview method and case analysis method are used to study and analyze the current situation and existing problems of product R&D management of YCM Company,and it is found that YCM company has problems in product demand management,R&D organizational structure,R&D project management and R&D process.The main problems include slow market response speed of product demand,imperfect internal demand management of product,imperfect organizational structure of R&D,high barriers of functional departments,unreasonable composition of project team members,high technical risk of product R&D,lack of effective product life cycle management and imperfect decision review mechanism.To solve these problems,combining the theory of integrated product development and YCM company’s actual situation,put forward the corresponding improvement strategies,including building the end-to-end product demand management system,establishing project management office,setting technology development department,to form a leading cross functional team,to separate product development and technology development,optimize R&D process stage Settings,technical review and decision review separation.On this basis,from the organization,personnel,system,information technology to make the guarantee measures for the improving implementation of the strategy.The research results of this paper play a certain guidance and reference role for the improvement of product R&D management of YCM Company,help it improve the efficiency of product R&D to cope with the constantly changing market environment,promote the sustainable and benign development of the enterprise,and also provide reference for the improvement of product R&D management of similar manufacturing companies.
