In the past two years, the global epidemic is raging and the international situation is complicated, and China’s foreign trade is facing severe challenges. With the popularization of the Internet and the progress of emerging technologies such as big data and Internet of Things,cross-border e-commerce has developed strongly, becoming a new growth point of China’s trade. On November 15 th,2020,RCEP agreement was officially signed, which opened a new era of trade development between China and East Asian countries.Under this background, how to seize the historical opportunity of RCEP,strengthen regional cooperation through cross-border e-commerce,a new engine of trade development, and stimulate the growth of China’s export trade has become the research focus under the new situation. Therefore, this thesis takes RCEP member countries as the research object, and explores the influence of cross-border e-commerce development level on China’s export trade from both theoretical and empirical aspects,so as to provide corresponding theoretical and practical basis for promoting China’s export trade development.Firstly, this thesis analyzes the development status of cross-border e-commerce in RCEP member countries and China’s export trade, summarizes the development characteristics of cross-border e-commerce,and explores the internal relationship between cross-border e-commerce and export trade.Secondly, starting from the trade theory, this thesis analyzes the mechanism of cross-border e-commerce affecting import and export trade, and strives to clarify the relationship between cross-border e-commerce and export trade in theory. Then,on the basis of theoretical mechanism,a comprehensive index system for measuring the development level of cross-border e-commerce is established from four dimensions: informatization level, customs clearance efficiency, logistics efficiency and technical level. The development level of cross-border e-commerce in RCEP member countries from 2011 to 2020 is measured by principal component analysis, and the measured results are described. Finally, the cross-border e-commerce development level index is introduced into the extended trade gravity model, and RCEP member countries are taken as the main research objects to empirically analyze the impact of cross-border e-commerce development level on export trade. On this basis, the intermediary effect model is applied to test the impact mechanism of cross-border e-commerce development level on export trade. In addition,by simulating the impact of cross-border e-commerce development level and its indicators on China’s export trade potential, the role of cross-border e-commerce development in increasing trade flow is further studied.Through theoretical and empirical analysis, the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Cross-border e-commerce in1)RCEP member countries shows a good upward trend as a whole, but there are big differences among countries;(2)The development level of cross-border e-commerce has a significant role in promoting the trade flow of China’s export RCEP partner countries;(3)The four dimensions of cross-border e-commerce development level also play a significant role in promoting the development of China’s export trade;(4)The tariff level of finished products in RCEP partner countries has a greater impact on China’s export trade than that of primary products;(5)Different dimensions of cross-border e-commerce development level show significant heterogeneity in different countries.According to the research conclusion, combined with the current reality,it is proposed to develop logistics infrastructure and build a digital intelligent logistics system.Strengthen innovative cooperation in network infrastructure construction and accelerate the process of "internet plus" strategy;Strengthen cooperation in port construction and improve customs clearance procedures;Strengthen the ability of scientific and technological innovation and jointly cultivate outstanding talents of cross-border e-commerce. |
