Research On Regional Coordinated Development In Guanzhong Plain Urban Agglomeration

With the unceasing advancement of urbanization,urban agglomerations have gradually turned into an important carrier of regional economic development.It not only ensures coordinated regional development but also emerged as an important strategy for China’s economic development in the recent past.Keeping in view the mounting significance of the urban agglomeration for economic expansions,the State Council officially approved a developmental plan titled as,“Development Plan for the Urban Agglomeration in the Guanzhong Plain” in 2018.Although,the plan is based in northwestern parts however,it was designed carefully in a way which incorporates the development of the whole country by carving of a logo embedded in culture and transcending through innovation to accelerate the improvement of the radiation and achieving high-quality regional development.On the basis of systematically sorting out and learning from the research on urban agglomeration in domestic and foreign academic circles,this thesis is primarily based on regional development evolution theory however,regional coordinated development theory and labor division theory will also be incorporated to fetch theoretical support for the research.Likewise,the study will use system theory and coordination theory for method section,similarly the innovation-driven development strategy in accordance with the sustainable development strategy will be integrated to investigate the five different but inter-connected perspectives such as economy,society,population,resources and environment for conducting a comprehensive study and analyzing the Guanzhong Plain urban agglomeration.First of all,on the basis of clearly defined scope of the urban agglomeration and the main cities,the study will comparatively analyze its economic levels,industrial structures,total population,population structure,income consumptions,different infrastructures and the environmental resources for the development of the urban agglomeration.Secondly,the study will uphold a comprehensive,scientific and rational idea to build an index system for the coordinated development of the Guanzhong Plain urban agglomeration.In addition to it,this study will try to use mathematical methods such as principal component analysis,AHP and coordination coefficient to analyze the coordinated development of the urban agglomeration as a whole and its subsystems.Finally,through studying each subsystem along with intrasubsystem coordination and the urban agglomeration as a whole,it is found that the coordinated development score of the subsystems of the urban agglomeration showed a trend of steady growth and coordinated development.Previous researches have already unveiled the fact that the coordination among the economic,social and population subsystems is quite satisfactory however,coordination between the environment,resources and other subsystems is not up to the mark.The overall coordinated development level of urban agglomerations has been improving year by year,showing a growth trend of first fast and then slow.On the basis of studying the coordinated development mode and experience of foreign urban agglomerations,this thesis tends to investigate coordinated development mode of the Guanzhong Plain urban agglomeration.In the preview of existing lacunas in urban agglomeration system,countermeasures and other empirical suggestions will be presented forward regarding multiple aspects of urban agglomeration structures such as economic,industrial infrastructure,social undertakings,population,talent support,environmental management of the resources and the regional coordinated development mechanism.In this way,the coordinated development of the subsystems of the Guanzhong Plain urban agglomeration will be promoted which will comprehensively improve the coordinated development level of urban agglomerations.
