Along with the rapid development of economic globalization,supply chain management capability has become critical strategic resources that create competitive advantages for enterprises,and the selection of high-quality suppliers is the core of supply chain management.The supply chain starts with the procurement of raw materials and components from suppliers.Usually,the procurement cost accounts for 50% or more of the enterprise’s cost of sales.In the traditional procurement management model,the relationship between suppliers and buyers is mostly transactional partnership;in the modern supply chain,however,greater attention needs to be paid to the overall coordination and close cooperation,seeking a win-win and reciprocal model in the value chain,and seeking to achieve the goal of strengthening the core competencies.The evaluation and selection of suppliers is not only the basis for the operation of supply chain collaboration,but also the core of supply chain management.Therefore,from both the perspective of the existence and development of enterprises and the perspective of supply chain management,the evaluation and selection of suppliers is of great significance.This thesis takes the evaluation and selection of suppliers of Company F as the research object.In view of the challenging management resulting from the large number of suppliers and the unreasonable classification of suppliers of Company F,as well as the incompatibility between Company F and its current business model due to the inadequate selection and evaluation system of suppliers,and considering the relevant theoretical and applied study findings of domestic and experts and senior scholars of foreign on selection and evaluation of suppliers,this thesis summarized the major influencing factors of supplier selection and evaluation on the basis of literature review,and further used questionnaires and interviews to identify and analyze the key factors,and finally adopted the AHP method to construct a system on selection and evaluation of suppliers and performed the optimization plan through case studies.The study found that currently,Company F has numerous unclassified suppliers,the key factors in the selection and evaluation system are inadequate,the weights are unreasonably assigned,and the evaluation process is flawed.Therefore,this thesis reasonably classified materials and suppliers,and based on the specific background that Company F is in the chemical and building materials industry,this thesis constructed an evaluation system and process compatible with the business model of Company F,aiming to optimize the supplier evaluation and selection system by using a more systematic and scientific method and provide Company F with an objective basis to make effective decisions and select high-quality suppliers,so as to strengthen the core competency of the overall supply chain,assist in the sustainable development of the company,and provide empirical evidence for practitioners in the same industry to optimize supply chain management.In addition,by studying and reviewing the literature on supplier evaluation and selection at home and abroad,this thesis provided a theoretical basis for studies on this topic.
