Since1990s, with the development of globalization of economy, and the growth ofmarket competition, supplier management has become one of the important strategiescompanies employ in development. Suppliers are important participants in trades.Procurements happen directly between companies and them. The management level ofsuppliers closely effects companies’ operating efficiency and costs, and links closely to theprofitability. For supplier management, choosing suppliers is the key point. Hence,analyzing supplier selection and optimizing strategies in supplier selection, with high levelof academic merits for the development and enrich of supply chain management anddecision analysis, will also provide significant guidance in the real world enterpriseoperation and management.Following the opening of internal retail industry, supplier selection has becoming amulti-targeting and multi-standard issue. Choosing suitable suppliers, as well asdistributing orders to suppliers, are problems retailers have to face. Supermarkets havedeveloped rapidly even since the reform and opening up, causing competitions to grow aswell. Thus, the study of supplier selections for supermarkets, especially larger scale ones,have more significance in the real world. These years, scholars provided some standard forsuppliers’ evaluation and selection from different view and different emphasis. This paperchose Baoding Beijing Hualian Supermarket as object of study. It mainly focuses onsuppliers’ selection of Baoding Beijing Hualian Supermarket. Data was collected throughrelated articles, field researches, questionnaire surveys, and then applied analytic hierarchyprocess and Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation, to build a comprehensive and scientificsupplier evaluation system for Baoding Beijing Hualian Supermarket with specificindustry characteristics. This system could be a representative system for supermarketswith similar size and mode of operation to refer to. It has practical value and will be aninspiration for retailors who face similar supplier selection problems.
