Since 1980s,with the rapid development and globalization of the economy,the market start to gradually change from short supply to oversupply,users are requiring the products to meet their personalized needs,which making the market competition to be more and more intense.Supply chain management was becoming more and more important.Many enterprises began to focus on the partnership development with suppliers.The products in E enterprise is widely used in petroleum,petrochemical,nuclear power and other industrial fields,the products are not only requiring extremely high quality and reliability,but also with the High Mix-low Volume product type,which make the requirement for certain flexibility and rapid response in the supply chain is necessary.So how to classify and select suppliers as strategic partnership is very important for E enterprises.How to allocate the limited resource in E enterprise to make the most efficient supplier management comes to be the reality.This paper is aim to classify the suppliers into different categories and then apply different supplier management strategies for different categories of the suppliers.To get started,this paper analyzed the industry background,the research methods,values of this paper,then summarized the research status of the supplier classification management field by the researchers across the world.And review the earlier research status of the supplier key performance index,supply chain risk management and the characteristics of High Mix-Low Volume product type.Followed by analysis on the current supplier management situation at E enterprise,and made those existing issue to be exposed,then find the suitable corresponding solution for each of them.First of all,based on the previous researcher’s research result,developed one set of key supplier performance index which including in the product type of High Mix-Low Volume,then determine the weights of the various supplier performance indicators with AHP method,establish the supplier key performance evaluation system and perform the supplier performance review,this filled the gap in the 2~ndd tier supplier performance management system in E enterprise.Secondly,set up a set of index for the supplier risk assessment and determine the weights of each indicator with Delphi(Expert Predict)method,then establish a through suitable supplier risk assessment system,and conduct the risk assessment for all the suppliers in E enterprise and apply different supplier management frequencies for different grade of suppliers.This also provides data support for the supplier classification in the next step.Finally,combined the results of supplier risk assessment with supplier spends in E enterprise with 20/80 principles,determine which quadrant should be in for each supplier with Minitab.Then apply different supplier management strategies for different suppliers in different quadrants in E enterprise.
