Under the actual background of high-quality integrated development in the regions and deepening market-oriented reform,all areas require a deeper awareness with interconnectedness at the spatial level profoundly.The spatial imbalance of industrial structure in China have been becoming one of the important factors,which makes differences in regional economic development difficult to improve.For these reasons,this paper tried to explore the possible reasons why the spatial imbalance exists through analyzing the characterize of the variables and constructing Spatial Durbin Model for empirical test with the research point of biased technological progress.The research methodology and contents are as follow:(1)Based on the CES production function,a standardized three-equation system was constructed by using the “standardized supply-side system method” to measure the technological progress bias index from 2006 to2020.Whereafter,this paper analyzed the characterize of spatial-temporal perspective and geographical differentiation through calculating Dagum Gini coefficient and global Moran index.(2)This paper calculated degree of industrial structure correlation between cities on2005,2010,2015 and 2020 by using the gravity model,and then analyzed the features of it with the method of adding up the gravity values.(3)Based on the theoretical assumptions on the direct and spillover effect about technological progress bias to industrial construction changing,this paper set connection,rationalization and sophistication degree as proxy variables.And then,Spatial Durbin Model was used to test empirically.Robustness tests were used by transforming variables,spatial weight matrix and spatial econometric model.The results of this paper concludes that,(1)Most of areas in the research region perform for Hicks’ capital bias technology progress with intensive labor productivity.From the respective of temporal characters,mean of indexes change over time with a trend of first up,then down.Eastern cities show a decreasing trend over time with the western cities show an upward trend in volatility.From the respective of spatial characters,the overall performance is from “high in the east and low in the west” to “high in the west and low in the east”,and the cluster of low value regions exist in the provincial boundaries,while the eastern cities are related isolated.(2)The correlation degree of industrial structure shows the characteristics of “high in the middle and low in the edge”.Kunming,Nanning,Liuzhou,Guiyang have been becoming the centers of network and having a high degree of correlation.As time goes by,the radiation effect of the central city is increasing and a high value area agglomeration form in the west and north of the city gradually while the eastern cities are related isolated again.(3)The regression results of empirical models show that,in terms of direct effects,biased technological progress has a significant positive impact on the balance degree of industrial structure,and a significant negative impact on the upgrading of industrial structure.In terms of the spatial spillover effect,biased technological progress in neighboring areas has a significant negative impact on the correlation degree and advanced industrial structure.This paper argues that,on the one hand,the capital-biased technological progress promotes the rationalization of industrial structure in Yunnan,Guangxi and Guizhou province,on the other hand,it hinders the pace of industrial structure optimization and upgrading,which is able to interpret the reason why spatial imbalance of China’s industrial structure is existing.The regression results are robust after the checkout by changing of proxy variances,spatial weighted matrix or spatial econometric models.What’s more,population,fiscal expenditure and the level of opening up in an area can also influence the change of industrial structure directly and indirectly.Based on the research results above,this paper put forward political recommendations from the following three aspects:(1)It is important to pay attention to the influences of provincial boundary lines to the harmonious development of bias technological progress.(2)The construction of intermediate nodes between the core areas and marginal areas of industrial connection network should be reinforced.(3)Improving the cultivation and accumulation capacities of skilled labor factors,while avoiding the "low-end technology lock" phenomenon.The research content is of practical significance to enhance the independent innovation capacity of Yunnan,Guangxi and Guizhou province,narrow the gap between regions in economic development as well as improve the coordinated development of the whole region and then realize high-quality economic development promotion. |
