In recent years,the rapid development of tourism has led to the development of the hotel industry,the hotel industry’s thirst for talents is becoming more and more intense.Interns are usually a large group of hotel enterprises to relieve the labor force in the peak season.At the same time,most of the hotel professional interns are the reserve of high-quality management talents.But after the internship of the hotel professional interns are often changed to other industries.Generally speaking,the willingness of hotel staff to stay on the job is determined by their sense of professional identity,which also has a profound impact on the employment of interns majoring in hospitality.Although some experts and scholars will study tourism students as a solution to the problem of high-quality hotel personnel to solve the problem.However,the number of college students majoring in tourism who have practiced in the hotel industry after graduation is not large.This is a common problem,that is,graduates do not want to engage in their major after graduation.The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that influence the professional identity and retention intention of hotel interns in this industry,so as to solve the problem of low retention rate of hotel interns,and to provide some reference for the management and retention of high quality talents such as interns in the hotel industry.This thesis focuses on the relationship between professional identity,internship content and retention intention of hotel professional interns.Based on domestic and international literatures,the factors influencing the relationship between vocational identity and retention intention of students are analyzed with the help of a more mature SOR(stimulus-organic-response)model,and then a model is established on this basis.Secondly,taking professional interns from 8 hotels in Hainan as the objects of investigation,the questionnaire was designed and distributed to collect and analyze data from a statistical point of view.By actually demonstrating and analyzing the relationship between these three elements,the hotel can improve the internship content of college students in different positions,so that they can obtain appropriate professional status,thus increasing their willingness to stay on the job,and finally solve the problem of the hotel.At the same time,the problem of high staff turnover also provides a feasible basis for solving the problem of student employment.The empirical research results show that :(1)The four dimensions of the internship content of the hotel professional interns,including corporate culture,job support,interpersonal competence and prospect prediction,have a significant positive predictive effect on the professional identity,and the professional identity of the interns has a significant positive impact on the internship retention intention.(2)In addition,in the mediating effect test,corporate culture,interpersonal competence,prospect prediction and job support in the internship contents of hotel professional interns can have a significant positive impact on retention intention through professional identity,and the mediating effect of professional identity is complete.This is also consistent with the research hypothesis based on SOR model in this thesis.
