| Hotel is a labor-intensive industry.Due to intangibility of service,simultaneity of production and consumption,variability of service quality,hotels regard human resources very important in the hotel development process.As one of the three major tourism industries,the hotel industry has been faced with high staff turnover rate while low entry rate in recent years,especially the staff from the food and beverage department,front office department and housekeeping department.In order to maintain the operation,most hotels have to change the employment mode: hire hotel interns instead of the regular staff.Interns have played an very important role in the hotel industry.However,The rate that interns mean to develop their career in the industry after graduation is very low.The internship constructs students’ overall cognition of the hotel industry and influences their willingness to develop in the hotel industry.Therefore,how to improve internship satisfaction and further improve the retention rate of students has become the focus of industry management.Based on psychological capital theory in the domestic and overseas,this paper mainly explores the impact of hotel interns’ psychological capital on internship satisfaction and their intention to develop in the hotel industry.The research mainly adopts literature review method,questionnaire survey method,statistical analysis method,and use SPSS26.0 and AMOS25.0 to analyze the data.The results show that the psychological capital of hotel interns partly affects their intention to develop in the industry;hotel interns’ psychological capital partly affects their internship satisfaction;internship satisfaction significantly affects the retention intention of hotel interns.This paper puts forward three suggestions to hotels.First,while hotel interns’ recruitment and selection,fill in the questionnaire referred positive psychological capital,then decide the posts according to the results.Secondly,cultivate psychological capital of interns,like training,regular measurement of students’ psychological level,ways to enhance individual psychological capital.Third,promote the local intern management,adjust the management mode,strengthen vocational education,deepen school-enterprise cooperation,and engage interns with love and care. |
