With the booming development of Internet and 5G technology,jitterbug and short video have become the main way of people’s life and leisure.The government,enterprises and individuals’ demand for virtual teams and remote co-working are also increasing under the influence of the epidemic,and the demand for servers as the hardware facilities of network infrastructure is exploding.Optimizing its manufacturing process in the production process to ensure a high first pass rate has become a core issue for enterprises.This dissertation applies the improvement method based on Six Sigma DMAIC to the study of manufacturing process quality improvement.Taking the rackmount server of Company H as the research object,the quality problems in the manufacturing process of server chassis are solved through the summary and application of DMAIC tools.First,the development history of quality management and the theoretical foundation of Six Sigma DMAIC are reviewed,and a comprehensive understanding of Six Sigma management and DMAIC is provided.Then we model the application of DMAIC to the server chassis manufacturing process and design an improvement plan to lay the foundation for the subsequent implementation.Then,we summarized and analyzed the quality problems of the server chassis manufacturing process in Company H’s operation mode,organizational structure and quality management system,clarified its current quality status and explored the quality improvement opportunities.Next,the process quality improvement was implemented according to the DMAIC model and design plan:in the problem definition phase,the improvement goal was defined: to solve the problem of high non-conformity rate of 4U server chassis,and an improvement team was established to develop an improvement plan and form an approved project charter;in the status assessment phase,GRR and attribute consistency analysis were performed on the measurement system errors to ensure that the current measurement system In the current situation assessment phase,GRR and attribute consistency analysis are performed to ensure that the current measurement system meets the requirements,and process stability is evaluated as one of the improvement indicators.In the problem analysis phase,the key influencing factors were selected through cause-effect matrix and failure mode analysis and the correlation with quality characteristic Y was verified using regression analysis.In the quality improvement phase,a full factorial test was designed to find the optimal level of impact factor X.Finally,in the control phase,standardization of documentation and control charts are used to ensure that the improvement results are consistently and effectively implemented.In the final conclusion and outlook,the project results are confirmed and shortcomings are analyzed.The completion of Six Sigma quality improvement not only solved the problem of one-time pass rate of server chassis manufacturing in Company H,but also improved the image of Company H in customers’ mind.The success of server manufacturing process quality improvement can be horizontally extended to other models of chassis,which not only lays the foundation for Company H to carry out subsequent quality improvement,but also provides a benchmark and reference role for the improvement of similar products.
