The Mutual Construction Of Cultural Memory And Media In Ancient Town Under The Theory Of Cultural Memory

China’s urbanization process has promoted the prosperity and development of the cities,and China’s urbanization level has shown a new height since the 14 th Five-Year Plan.The ancient town is a treasure produced under Chinese traditional historical civilization,reflecting the continuation of ancient civilization in today’s society.However,the wave of industrialization and modernization has had a certain impact on the traditional ancient towns carrying rich history and culture,and the cultural memory of ancient towns has gradually been forgotten.Ancient town is a special existence in the city,the process of urbanization is to use modern means to continuously transform the urban area,and ancient town is to use modern means to effectively protect it.As a carrier of cultural memory,ancient towns are a meaningful medium.This research mainly collects empirical materials by analyzing historical documents and in-depth interviews.Based on Asman’s theory of cultural memory,this paper discusses the cultural memory of Nanxun ancient town through two modes of cultural memory and two metaphors of cultural memory.On the structure of writing,it is mainly divided into six parts.The first part is the introduction,including the origin and significance of the research,research status,basic theory,research design.This part mainly explains the starting point of this study,combs out domestic and foreign literature reviews to pave the way for the following research,analyzes the relationship between cultural memory,media and Nanxun ancient town,and proposes the research design.The second part is the construction of the media attributes of Nanxun ancient town by cultural memory,investigating the media role of Nanxun ancient town,and finding out the cultural memory system of Nanxun ancient town by means of the cultural memory theory of Asman,that Nanxun ancient town has media metaphors of time and space.The third part is how Nanxun ancient town constructs cultural memory in the time metaphor.Through the form of "narration" of historical display in the theory of Asman’s cultural memory,it analyzes the "frozen" narration of Nanxun ancient town in stored memory and the "emphasized narration" in functional memory.As a medium,the ancient town makes the cultural memory present "diachronic".The fourth part is how Nanxun ancient town constructs cultural memory in the space metaphor.Through the form of "exhibition" and "performance" displayed by history,it analyzes the uninhabited space exhibition and the inhabited space performance in Nanxun ancient town to explain that the ancient town,as a medium,entrusts storage memory and functional memory with "spatial".The fifth part examines the current problems and causes of Nanxun Ancient town in cultural memory.Based on the survey of Nanxun Ancient town managers,merchants,residents,tourists and other interviewees,it finds that there are corresponding fuzzy points in the time and space metaphors of Nanxun ancient Town,which are mainly problems in functional memory.The reasons for these problems are analyzed from three aspects.They are the negligence of scenic area management,the requirements of modern process and the mercy of information disappearance.The sixth part,aiming at the existing problems of Nanxun ancient town,proposes to build a media-centered connection path,and at the same time,starting from the current nature of Nanxun ancient town,provides reference ideas for the inheritance and continuation of other ancient towns’ cultural memory.
