In 2013,the government launched the goal of building a "beautiful countryside" to address the issue of imbalanced development in the current construction of new rural areas.Subsequently,in 2016,the "characteristic towns" plan was proposed,and the rural revitalization strategy was proposed at the 19 th National Congress.This constitutes the basic framework for the development of "agriculture,rural areas,and farmers" in the new era and is also an important measure to achieve urbanization.Rural tourism stands from the perspective of rediscovering the potential space of rural areas,changing the current development status of rural society,and gradually becoming the backbone of promoting rural revitalization.The construction of Yangloudong Ancient Town in Chibi City,Hubei Province is one of the ways to achieve the construction of characteristic towns.The development process from "poverty alleviation" to "rural revitalization" has also provided reference transformation samples for the development of other towns.With the rise of "space turn" in academic circles,material space is an important aspect of communication system.This paper takes Yangloudong ancient Town in Chibi City,Hubei Province as a sample,based on Edward Soja’s theories of "the third space" and "spatial media",as well as domestic and foreign discussions on the relationship between media and space,and uses field observation,in-depth interview and text analysis to conduct research.From a macro perspective,restore the process of financial support and digital construction in the production and reconstruction of rural cultural space.At the micro level,the image construction of Yangloudong Ancient Town by media and the interaction between urban and rural social relations are observed from the perspective of media communication.To this end,this paper discusses the production driving force,communication value and shortcomings of mining rural cultural space under the strategy of rural revitalization,mainly from the following aspects of specific analysis:This paper deconstructs the cultural space production of Yangloudong Ancient town into three aspects: material space,imagination space and practice space,and analyzes the space transformation of Yangloudong Ancient Town and the process of space users’ reconfiguration of various elements in practice.First of all,starting from the perceptible physical space,focusing on the natural,historical and cultural resources of Yangloudong ancient Town space itself,the cultural connotation of the town has been enriched over time.Secondly,starting from the "otherization" space conceived by media,focusing on the media communication of virtual imagination space,the significance and role of media to "secondary space production" of Yangloudong Ancient Town and the process of building digital urban and rural Bridges are analyzed.Finally,starting from the practice space of developing and transforming the ancient town space to develop rural tourism scenic spots,the paper focuses on the daily life and communication of residents in the ancient town,and observes the information exchange and social changes brought by space media.According to the research of Yangloudong Ancient town cultural space production and rural cultural media communication,the characteristics and problems of the ancient town in practice are summarized.In short,through the case investigation of Yangloudong Ancient Town,the author has a deeper understanding of the characteristics of the media communication of rural cultural space,and also makes people rethink the relationship between countryside and city.Rural cultural space not only delineates perception,imagination and memory in the form of physical space,but also connects society and history in the form of brand and symbol.Fluid culture floats above material carriers,making it easier to reach the countryside.In this sense,space is transformed into a form of media.By tapping the media potential of rural cultural space,the countryside can absorb more development resources and even become a link between urban and rural communication.
